Decided to give Julian’s another chance. Order double brisket, lean and marble. The lean was tough, dry and no flavor. Was cut almost a quarter inch. The marble was a bigger disappointment. It was almost shredded and not cut. Very little flavor but was a little more moist. Never again!

First time here. The marble brisket, pork ribs, and jal sausage were good. The pork ribs were more peppery than sweet. The green beans were good but the beans and potato salad were a bit bland. We could taste the vinegar in the sauce which unfortunately took away from any flavor it had. Customer service was great! I loved the set up inside.

Stopped here to try the 3 meat plate.
Per usual I got the brisket, ribs and jalapeño sausage with beans and slaw.
The wife got the loaded baked potato.

The plate looked great. I had asked for moist brisket and the 2 pieces I received were thick cut point/flat pieces. The two ribs were large and had a decent amount of meat on them. The sausage was good altho I would suspect it’s bought and not made.
Sides were bland and needed seasoning.

The potato was large and had the pulled pork, cheese, butter and sour cream on the side.
I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce

The good: the ribs were good perhaps a little tough but not bad.
Sausage was good but again maybe a little over done as it was a little chewy
The potato was good.

The bad :
Brisket. Fat was not fully rendered and the flat (lean) was down right tough. Could barely pull the meat apart.
Almost no smoke flavor. (Think post roast)
The sides were forgettable and needed Al lot of help.
Meal with 2 drinks $42
Side note, the day we were here it was cash only. May want to bring your own flatware as the provided utensils are flimsy and not suited to the job.

Food was really good. The sausage was on point and I would recommend this if you’re in the area. I was working for a client here in Corpus Christi and they said this is one of their favorite spots to visit. from what I understand this is a local favorite and it’s kind of a hole in a wall kind of place.

Heard many, many good reviews about their bbq. Finally had chance to make it in. Ordered marbled and lean brisket, regular and jalapeno cheddar sausage, and pork ribs.

Sides of green beans and rice.

Brisket was moist and very tender. Had good flavor. Was disappointed that they left big hunks of fat on my lean brisket. Could have easily trimmed.

Pork ribs were good. Little on drier side, but did eat those last.

Regular sausage was pretty good, but star of the show was the jalapeno cheddar sausage. Not hot at all…little kick.. but extremely flavorful.

Wasn’t a fan of either sauce they had. One sweet…one spicy. My oldest son liked their regular sauce.

Overall …was decent. Won’t go out of my way to come again.

The outer appearance of the place is different from other bbq restaurants I’ve been too. But the food inside is worth it. We tried the poor boy sandwich which has three types of meat and order the potato salad as a side. We got there early to avoid the crowd. Everything freshly cooked and baked potatoes are delicious!

The best damn barbecue in the Corpus Christi area hands down. I got the beef ribs “dino rib” and it was perfect. I also got the three meat plate with fatty brisket, pork ribs and jalapeño sausage. Don’t waste your time at the other places, do your mouth a favor and go to Julian’s BBQ.

Not sure if I just came at the wrong time or the times are just that hard but they were out of everything from buns to sausage to chicken.

I got the one meet plate with double green beans, the beans tasted like they were straight out of a can with some onion tossed in, didn’t even finish them, they were so bland. The marbled brisket wasn’t much better. There was plenty of it, but it was tough to the point needing to cut it with the flimsy plastic knife I was given. Tasted like it needed a few more hours in the smoker and the tiny smoke ring on the meat backs that up.

Over all it was highly disappointing for the 16 dollar price point. Very likely won’t be back next time I’m in town on business.

We had not been here recently, but in the area on a tight schedule. My husband had a brisket sandwich with pinto beans. The brisket was good , good bark , not to dry . The beans were ok just no spice. I had a sausage sandwich with potato salad. The sausage was pretty good , it did have a good smoke flavor , the potato salad was ok , I am Texas born and raised and I do make my potato salad with mustard in it ,but this one was to mustard forward , maybe a little bit of mayonnaise to temper. We also had a piece of pecan pie , it was sooo gooey and good , in fact , took a piece home!! I will say I am not a big sauce fan , as I feel good meat should stand alone , but we did try it and it was 100 % improved. Last time it was runny , no spice and waaaaay too much vinegar. Not this time , It was thicker, had a just right kick and not a strong vinegar taste.
