I called to let them know that we discovered our pizza had been delivered 50 minutes late and placed on the floor of the vestibule outside of our event. We hadn’t realized it had even arrived until we went to leave.
I placed the order on November 3 and our event was November 8. I unfortunately had not had a chance to call until November 13. Full disclosure – I had out of town guests, I’m dealing with and visiting my father in an inpatient rehab facility post stroke, yada yada. The manager kept inferring how challenging it was because of the amount of time that went by; ‘ almost a week…’, ‘ Most people call the next day…’
As much as I recognize that would be ideal, I unfortunately had other pressing things and was hoping they could assist me now. It wasn’t disclosed anywhere that there was this policy and I thanked her for clarifying for me for future awareness. By the end of our exchange, I was very put off by the amount of times the manager felt the need to repeat the side comments. I graciously acknowledged that I understood and tried to assist with providing order numbers and context to help and it became increasingly difficult to maintain civility. In the end, I’m happy that they were able to reimburse me, I just felt I needed to share my experience as I was sitting here feeling put off by the exchange and felt it wasn’t necessary given it’s a service industry manager that should know better.
