I just had to share our awful experience at Judy’s because honestly, it was the WORST dining experience we’ve ever had. My husband and I went there expecting a nice meal, but what we got was nothing short of a nightmare.

First off, we waited for TWO HOURS before our food finally arrived. TWO HOURS! Can you believe that? Meanwhile, we were sitting there hungry and frustrated, watching other tables get served first. When my food finally came, it was completely wrong. I clearly ordered the broiled crab cake, but they FRIED it instead. I had to take it back and tell the lady at the counter, but she lied to us about when it would be ready again.

And that’s not all! I also ordered ground provision with yum, and what they brought me looked nothing like what I expected. Seriously, it was such a disappointment.

To make matters worse, we spent a total of $153 on this terrible meal. For that price, I expected at least decent food and service, not this mess. Please, stay away from Judy’s if you want to avoid wasting your money and having a stressful experience like we did.

Really disappointed,
Cassandra

Ordered thru the kiosk but the gentleman at the counter told me if I needed help to let him know. The jerk chicken was well seasoned. They packaged the food well with plastic around the to go container so it didn’t leak. First time here but definitely will be back.

I’ve eaten here before and really enjoyed it, but tonight felt like an off night. I ordered the brown stew chickpeas, which were delicious, but my husband had a different experience. He ordered the island fried chicken and requested dark meat, but received a mix instead. Unfortunately, they were also out of several menu items, and the biggest issue was the wait—his plate didn’t arrive for nearly an hour, long after I’d already finished my meal

Happy hour was a huge disappointment! Ordered a Strawberry Henny drink & the wings (from HH menu) & 2 sides (reg. menu). The sides came out 1st & the mac was cold but cabbage medley was good. The wings taste like mass produced wings that were re-fried for serving. And the drink was tart. The waiter was kind enough to make the drink taste better & bring a fresh hot order of mac. All in all – HH is not worth the time or money- even with the sub-par discounts. Only order from the main menu if you want to enjoy your experience & have your money well spent.

Food is delicious, I ordered red beans and rice, cabbage and Mac n cheese. My friend ordered oxtail, plantains and rice. I tasted a piece of the oxtail and it was absolutely delicious! In fact, both of our dishes were delicious! However, more servers are needed. When it gets crowded, it will take some time before the server/waitress gets to you. The atmosphere was nice.

Comments from others regarding Judy’s have been on the most high, and now it is my turn in one word : WOW! Judy’s does not disappoint, and I had to keep myself from eating all of the Jerk Chicken meal along with three patties and a large Pineapple Ginger. Heaven on Earth! The cabbage and rice & peas were made in a way that did not
try to overwhelm your taste buds other than to keep eating. You get your money’s worth with plenty to share (if you want). I ordered takeout and did not have long to wait and was given my order in a professional and not rushed manner. Actually, my co-workers
ordered lunch two days ago, and I could smell the wonderful spices, and that alone had me sold to make a visit the next day. I will be returning soon.

I don’t know where to start with Judy’s Island Grill. We had been looking forward to dining here after driving past the restaurant for many years and noticing how it was always busy.

Unfortunately, tonight was a disappointment and I don’t recommend the restaurant, so I’ll get that out of the way. Perhaps it was an off night but I doubt it.

Our server, Vanessa, was very kind and sweet. However, she disappeared for long periods of time and explained my dish, the chickpea curry roti, as a Jamaican quesadilla (tortilla filled with toppings, folded in half and then pan cooked), but what was brought to the table was curried chickpeas, potatoes, onions and green peppers in a bowl with rice (so, very much not a quesadilla…). I didn’t get an opportunity to inquire about the dish because she disappeared and told us her manager had her fulfilling drinks, but we noticed a male bartender behind the bar and there were only four people sitting there, so the bar was nearly empty. It just didn’t add up.

Our friend ordered the crab cakes for $15 and they were TINY. The size of falafel and all breading, barely any crab. Far too expensive. My fiancé had the oxtail quesadilla (an actual quesadilla) and he enjoyed that. Vanessa actually brought him the meat to try ahead of time, which was very appreciated.

For $92 (18% mandatory gratuity added), we had the “curried chickpea roti,” an actual oxtail quesadilla, super expensive crabcakes, two small portions of baked macaroni and cheese, one soft drink and a sangria (no fruit, by the way). Far, far too expensive for the flavor and quality.

The restaurant itself is quite nice, definitely an island vibe. The music is quite loud and it’s difficult to hear one another talking, so be prepared to talk loudly during your meal.

Again, Vanessa had a lovely personality but she disappeared and my meal wasn’t at all as described, flavors simply weren’t tasty and overall, it was a disappointment.

I’m glad we finally tried Judy’s Island Grill after seeing for so many years, but it’s certainly a one and done establishment.
