Had lunch here on 10.16.2025 and was served by Christina. The grilled cheese with the broccoli and cheese soup was Spectacular!!! Highly recommend to anyone traveling through Litchfield. This place is an Illinois Treasure.

Holy cow… Stopped for a quick afternoon bite and I’m so glad I did. Had a breakfast horseshoe and the cinnamon roll French toast. The shoe was good, but the French toast was LIFE CHANGING. Oh my goodness, best thing ever!

Service was friendly but slow. They didn’t have their famous coffee cakes so that was a bad start and the pastries we did get weren’t great. The cone thing had no flavor, the puff pastry was dry and the cinnamon roll tasted stale. Disappointing as always liked to go here when back in town.

We ordered mini pies and gooey butter cake for our event—they let us choose the sizes and flavors, and everything was ready on time. So delicious and a big hit! Loved getting to serve some local favorites.

Stopped here for a late lunch. You walk in and pick your own table. You look over the menu and head up to the counter and place your order. Then they deliver it to your table when it’s ready. I had the chicken, bacon, ranch roll up with fries. It was very good. My husband was happy with his meal and really enjoyed the carrot cake. The staff was all friendly and helpful. We would stop here again if we are ever in the region again.

Overall great stop on the way from central il to mo. You walk in and claim your table. Order at counter. Bakery and large menu to choose from. Hubs got an omelet came with hash browns and 2 biscuits. He had black coffee. I had the cinnamon roll french toast bacon and 2 eggs. Could have been faster and hotter. I’m not picky but my eggs were cold. Overall yummy and would stop again. Ambiance typical greasy spoon a little dirty with a wobbly table freezing cold ac and scrunched sitting area.

Since 1922 family ownde. Place was hopping with locals so food must be good. The bakery items I bought were good and I brought home a container of broccoli cheddar soup that I haven’t tasted yet

Stopped here on our way thru and it was excellent! I know we spent more on the delicious pastries than lunch. Would be there daily if I lived closer. Highly recommend!

We were hungry & our food was SO good! Chicken was crispy, fries were hot… We were too full for dessert but the bakery items looked delicious.

We thought we would try Jubelt’s Bakery & Restaurant since they are on the old Route 66 which I adore. The food was pretty good. We really liked the steak fries. When you place your order and pay at the counter, they’ll ask for your table number, so be sure to have that in mind before you order. Make the table is unoccupied! Their bakery case will filled with amazing pastries and desserts, we didn’t try any of them.

In May 1922, three brothers—Paul, Fred, and Albert Jubelt—purchased a bakery in the coal mining town of Mount Olive, Illinois, where bread was the main focus. They put in a lot of effort and found success. Sadly, Albert passed away in 1929, prompting Fred to launch a second bakery in Granite City. By 1935, the partnership ended, and Paul took over the Mount Olive bakery on his own. They decided to open a bakery in Litchfield which has been around for a long time. #route66
