Oh wow what a find! Great Italian deli/grocery store. All the prepared foods look really fresh and beautiful. I ate the sausage/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich and it was great. I will make it back asap.

Came at 1 pm to get my christmas dinner and was told I had a time slot of 2 had to come back and now it’s 2:40 just picked up this was not a very organized pickup at all. people waiting on line to pick up and no one is really taking responsibility for this. The counter people are wonderful but this pickup dept NEEDS ALOT OF HELP. And to top it off she wanted to charge me again AMAZING. Definitely not going back there again. Que Pasta see you next year.

Went to J&S with a coworker who insisted I must try it. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly workers inside, a cast of local characters enjoying a Friday afternoon lunch, and a strong aroma of italian specialties. I tried a rice ball, followed by a chicken cutlet sub with mozz and broccoli rabe. Both items were exceptional.. perhaps among the best so far I’ve experienced at an italian deli. This combined with the great service made this lunch so memorable. Looking forward to returning to J&S to try the other goodies that I didn’t have room for.

Love this place. Been in jersey for a week, eaten here 4 times, twice a day. I’ve traveled around the country and I’ve never gone back to one spot like that. Food is terrific, people there are better. Not sure what I’m gonna do when I get back home and need a sandwich. Nothing back home compares.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this place for quite some time, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of their food. That’s why today’s experience was so deeply disappointing—not just because of the dish itself, but because of how the situation was handled.
I ordered the chicken saltimbocca, expecting a classic preparation. Instead, I received something that frankly no Italian kitchen should ever serve: a beautifully cooked chicken dish with its own sauce, placed over penne marinara—two completely different sauces, clashing in one plate. Anyone familiar with Italian cuisine knows this is culinary confusion at best, and at worst, a total disregard for tradition. To their credit they did offer to remake the dish which I declined because I intended to try and eat it but It was genuinely unappetizing and later provided a refund which I appreciate.
But when the cook came out to speak with me, his response was dismissive and unhelpful. That’s not the point. I’ve worked in and dined at many Italian restaurants, and I’ve never encountered anything like this. It wasn’t just a bad dish—it was a frustrating experience that ruined my lunch and forced me to leave work to return the order.
It’s a shame, because we order from here often and usually enjoy the food. But after today, and especially after the way the issue was handled, I won’t be coming back. I expected better
