Placed an order for pickup: The Berliner, Lahmacun, and a Mediterranean Flatbread. Everything was ready on time, packaged nicely, and most importantly-delicious! The tzatziki on The Berliner (we had the beef option) was tasty, and the chips that accompanied our entrees were fresh. Seeing the fresh dill weed on the Lahmacun was a bonus. The homemade spinach pesto on the flatbread accompanied the artichokes, feta, and tomatoes so well. We also loved the generous portion sizes of all three entrees. Excited to come back and try the cabbage and beef stew next time-thank you, J’s Pitaría.

This place has delicious food!! It was such a nice change from every other restaurant! I had the appetizer Falafel salad, and my partner had the Donner salad. We also split an order of somun bread with Mediterranean cheese. We also ordered dessert we had the kuglica one with walnuts and one with coconut like a truffle. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and I’m so glad we finally stopped in. I can’t wait to come back and try other things!! Well I took pictures but we had already dug in we were so excited about eating here but the smaller one is the Falafel salad!

We’re never disappointed when we eat at J’s Pitaria! Everything is always so fresh and so good every single time. Our usual go-to is the Sarajevski Cevapi, which always hits. But this time we decided to try something new: Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) and J’s Maslenica. Both were absolutely phenomenal!
Now we’re determined to try something new every time we go because we can see we’ve been missing out on so much. J’s Pitaria never disappoints! We still ended up ordering a Cevapi for to-go it’s just toooo good not to.

A fantastic discovery! While I’m not very familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, their menus are very efficient and include helpful photos. We were thoroughly pleased: everything was flavorful, well-presented, and looked great. The staff were friendly and prompt! The portions are enormous!!!!! We’ll certainly return!

What a great ethnic Bosnian restaurant The bread / food is very fresh and tasty. The falafel can be either vegetarian with Tzatziki sauce or vegan by using ajvar sauce.
The menu is mainly meat based except for falafel but it is outstanding

All I can say is wow. Despite my better judgement, I am stopping mid meal to tell anyone who will read this to try The Berliner. It’s fantastic on every level. A perfect blend of salty garlic goodness that’s balanced by cooling yogurt.

J’s Pitarija in St. Louis is hands-down the best spot for ćevapi in the USA, no question. This Bosnian-owned place is killing it, and it’s not just the ćevapi that’s killer. My go-to is the Berliner, their version of gyros or doner. Forget that processed, fake stuff you get at other spots – these guys do it the traditional way. They slice the beef super thin, stack it on the spit, and shave it fresh for your sandwich. It’s the real deal and so freaking good.
Oh, and the bread? That somun pita they serve with pretty much everything is straight-up addictive. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, and way too tasty for my low-carb attempts. If you’re in STL and want legit Balkan food, J’s Pitarija is where you’ll get it.

Simply put, some of the freshest, most delicious Mediterranean cuisine I’ve ever eaten. Clean, well decorated space with food to match. Highly recommend the beef Berliner sandwich. Portions were generous without being too much. Desserts and coffee were outstanding as well. Can’t wait to come back.

Food is absolutely 5 stars. There was a bit of a wait for food as they were very busy, but it was worth it. We had the cevapi which was every bit as good as we had in Bosnia. The pide was very good but unevenly topped. The only complaint would be the layout of the space. There is a huge urn/pitcher that sits right behind a high top table and in front of the water station. If anyone sits on that side of the high top, they are not only constantly bumping into the urn but also blocking access to the water and penning in any diners sitting at the bar or beside them at the high top. Simple fix – remove the urn or relocate it.
