Workers are all extremely nice and welcoming, the food was out fast. The lemon pepper seasoning on the fries is amazing just don’t inhale . The tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The price for the amount of food is enough to make you need to try it. Food is good, that lemon pepper is fire. Takes 20 to 30 mins for an order. Call ahead if you can. Combos no longer come with 2 sides(no coleslaw). Price have increased as well. May 2022. Of course it’s Js chicken and people be all wild in there.

First Time Trying This Place!
We ordered:
Shrimp and catfish combo
2 orders of catfish strips
Chicken tenders
Fried okra
Fried mushrooms
When the food arrived, it was cold. I believe this had more to do with the weather than the restaurant itself. That said, everything was well-seasoned, and I especially enjoyed the fried mushrooms and okra.
Unfortunately, I did get food poisoning after eating some of the catfish, okra, and mushrooms. Additionally, the fish in the shrimp and catfish combo was not catfish—it tasted more like perch or another type of fish, which was disappointing.
Because of the food poisoning and our dissatisfaction with the combo, we couldn’t eat the chicken tenders or the second order of catfish strips. Altogether, about $30 worth of food went to waste, which was disappointing since we spent around $60 in total. Since we don’t have a fish and chicken restaurant like this in our area, we were excited to try it, so this experience was a letdown.
I can’t speak to the physical location or customer service, as we used a delivery service. We were coming from out of town on a business trip as well(if that matters).I do hope this was a one-time issue. If not, I strongly encourage the restaurant to prioritize cleanliness and quality control to ensure customers don’t have similar experiences.
Recommendations for future customers:
We may or may not come back into town in the future whether for pleasure or business, if we do, at this time as unfortunate as it is,I don’t think this will be a restaurant we eat at for a second time unless reviews change for the better and feedback is given.
Pay attention to reviews before ordering. This might be a place where going into the store to pick up your food is a better option, as you can ensure it’s fresh and assess the appearance, cleanliness, and overall vibe of the restaurant. When deciding whether to eat here, consider all the factors—quality, freshness, and value for your money especially if you’re looking for something worth the price.

How did I purchase 7 wings, get 5, then get called a liar after driving all the way to work I’m mad because I didn’t pay $11 for 5 wings. To top it off am I being charged for the seasoning that is literally supposed to be on the chicken? All I asked was for what was already going to be on my chicken on the side. This place had been crap with service and NOT providing SAFE food to eat. I got food poisoning from eating fish that had either been old or uncooked properly. Gave it 2 year before I decided l to give it another chance and they failed again, so STILL TRASH.

I should have known better. I stopped to get something to eat on my way home one day last week and when I stepped into the building it had a smell of rotten raw chicken so bad that I had to leave. So today I wanted chicken so I placed my order online for pickup. Had my son go in and grab it. When we got home it had that smell on the package. I got pass the smell but nothing I order was fresh old fish and chicken very dry and no way to get a good bite from any of it. I feel sad that we try to support community business and this is what we get. I tried to call them but was send to voice mail. I tried this place many times and half the time was disappointed. I will not go there again and if you want food that is decent for the money they charge I would think twice

This place has great catfish, but they have serious, bizarre issues with their side dishes that are unacceptable. I exclusively order from them through doordash. Two times I’ve been given pre packaged Mac and cheese that’s ice cold. Like literally taken out of the refrigerator and served to me. Two times I’ve ordered an Oreo cheese cake. Once, I was given a raspberry cheesecake (whatever) and now I’ve just been given a slice of lemon cake. Get it together. This is ridiculous.

Please do not eat from this place. Please heed the warning. There is no way they are passing the health inspection. I always ask family when I see them eating chicken “where did you order that from?” If they say Jay’s I tell them stop ordering from that place. People if you walk into an establishment and it stinks, and is filthy RUN!! Look at the workers, they don’t even look clean. They know they sell low grade food in the neighborhood and they don’t care!! Stop eating here just because your to lazy to go somewhere clean or cook yourself. Love yourself enough to make sure your eating at a clean restaurant. Always check reviews!! They are low for a reason. Also notice how this place never comments on the reviews Huge red flag!! You have been warned. This place should be shut down until they clean up and are inspected and given a A +.
