My first time, but I will be back. The fried catfish was literally the best!! Fried hard & flaky just as I like it. The parmesan potatoes are delicious, I just wish they were fried a little longer. The gumbo was tomato based, not my favorite but it wasn’t bad. My waitress was nice and the establishment was clean.

We are in Phenix City for my husbands ankle replacement and was looking for a place to eat. We seen this place and said let’s give them a try. WOW I can not even say enough or put into words what a awesome place this is to eat. The owners and staff are awesome friendly and so down to earth. The Food is seasoned to perfection. Cooked fresh and just out of the World DELICIOUS. They even have a Fresh Seafood Martket to buy your Seafood. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM

The reason for 1 star is because the menu options for whole catfish had 2 prices. I assumed sm and lg. I asked for 2 lg whole catfish with slaw and fries. I ordered Mahi blackened with salad and hush puppies. Apparently, they only have 1 size and you get 2 whole catfish for $18, which in my opinion, was not a fair price compared to competitors. One plate of fish was thrown in the trash, as it’s taste was strong and fishy. The fries side was very small. The slaw was fair. As for Mahi plate, I got the hush puppies as a side to share. It came with 5, no larger than a marshmallow. Very disappointing. For almost $70, this was a huge disappointment. We heard the ad on the radio and expected much better.

1ST TIME TRYING THEM !! I got the catfish filet meal , with Cajun fries & fried okra . & I MUST SAY THE FISH WAS SEASONED TO PERFECTION ! Fries & okra was both 10/10 !! The TARTAR SAUCE is MAGNIFICENT, I mean finger licking good ! Definitely recommend this restaurant , I WILL BE BACK

After several failed attempts to buy fresh shrimp and crawfish in town, I made it over the Js, and I was able to find exactly what I needed! The owner helped me with a bulk order of seafood and even gave me some great cooking pointers. Thanks to Js we had a fantastic low country boil at our house this weekend. One guest even said, “oh, so this is what shrimp is supposed to taste like.” I will certainly be back!

Good meal overall. The place is plain, but it is clean and bright. The staff are civil and efficient.
I didn’t think that much of the gumbo, but the fried shrimp dinner was great. Big shrimp, well battered and well cooked. Big serving Okra was good too.
The tomato and cucumber salad honestly seemed old/stale.
I spent over thirty dollars, but honestly I could have gone under thirty and been well fed. The shrimp dinner was PLENTY of food. Should have skipped the gumbo

Our first time as a date night and NOT disappointed with a thing! Food, service, atmosphere, cleanliness, all an A+ in our book. We had the ‘bronzed’ snapper (not grilled and not blackened) and 2 dozen raw oysters with 2 sides an an appetizer, all DELICIOUS! We are looking forward to coming back from Harris County in the near future. We need one of these places near us!

Came here after reading so many positive reviews on FB…. And was NOT disappointed!!! Their battered fish was fried perfectly and their fries were seasoned very well. The gumbo was so good, I got some to take home!
They also have fresh fish avail for purchase so we bought some fresh mussels to make for dinner at home, as well as a pack of frozen alligator meat to try in a new Southern recipe.
Staff was very friendly, the restaurant was clean and the food was great … What more can y’all all for⁉️
