J’s is such a treat! We visit every time we are in Emporia! I love the nostalgia of the pin letter menu boards, the taste of the burgers, and the sweet service of people who know many of their customers by name and order. My drink was never less than half full, the servers made sure we had everything we wanted (and were extremely apologetic about the ice cream machine being broken), and they even encouraged us to move from the adorable round stools to a table when one became available. It’s small, but in the best kind of way! J’s is a small town burger joint that feels like a step back in time!

I was working in Emporia Kansas when I saw this little diner it’s a tiny place with a drive through and some outside seating the staff were very friendly for the amount of people ordering and drive through they were very fast to get the food out to customers we had ordered to go but decided to stay after we sat down they brought my DBL cheese burger and tots the size of the meat was very good it tasted amazing the staff made sure are drinks were always full as they had free refills their menu had a variety of foods when we were done eating they offered us what I believe was a homemade vanilla ice cream cone if you area ever in the are I recommend you try this treasure of a place out also prices were very reasonable

Quaint, local burger joint with super friendly staff and delicious food. Burger was a solid 1/3 lb and onion rings were thick on the onion and perfect on the batter. Not sure the seasoning, but reminded me of a maid- right without the mess. Hit them right at noon lunch rush with my to go order and had just enough time to get my free mini dish of vanilla ice cream down before I left with my hot lunch. Thanks! I’ll be back next time I’m in town.
