The Anointed One
Yesterday was the first time I came to this location. When I entered, the building’s layout was strange. I asked, “Is this one place?” One of the workers replied sarcastically, “This one place,” as he stepped to the side. I had to figure out where to order, pay, and eat.

The men who made my plate were respectful and welcoming. When I went to pay, I was disappointed by the limited drink options: only soda, canned water, smoothies, and acidic juices. They didn’t have fountain drinks, bottled water, non-acidic juices, or cups of water. I had to purchase a drink somewhere else.

Another disappointment was the small side portions. I would’ve loved more yuca fries, corn, and plantains.

The food was good, but a bit spicy for me. The curry chicken had a kick as expected. I even found a piece of ginger in the sauce. I enjoyed the meal and genuinely appreciated the quinoa option instead of rice. The food kept me full.

The seating area was nice and clean. The atmosphere screamed island vibes, everything from the music to the furniture (as expected).

There is barely any parking unless you parallel park in the front or side of the building. There is a paid parking lot nearby as well.

Overall, I would return, but I wouldn’t order the same thing because the vast majority of the proteins are spicy.

I discovered this spot by accident. I was in the elevator at my hotel and saw a couple holding takeout bags from the restaurant. The food smelled so good that I Googled the name on the bag right there. It ended up being just a block or two away, so I walked over.

I’m so glad I did. The food was fresh, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Hospitality was A1. There isn’t a lot of seating, but I was still able to sit and enjoy my meal.

The playlist was on point too — good tunes, good vibes. It’s a small but cozy comfort spot with real Jamaican soul-food energy ( vegetarian options as well)

I ordered jerk fried rice ( bussin!) with oxtail (so tender fell right off the bone) , shrimp, cabbage, sweet plantains, jerk mac and cheese, a beef patty, and a drink. My total was around $60, and it was worth it. The portions were big, and I even had leftovers the next day, which still tasted amazing.

Definitely a spot I’d recommend — flavor and vibes A1. I usually dint write reviews but I had to give this place its flowers – I’ll def visit again !

What an amazing Jamaican/Caribbean cuisine experience!! I loved that it was fast-food style but with all the flavor. We had such an incredible experience from the get-go, with the gentleman with longer hair (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) working in the evening at the food service station who greeted us, and gave us the best combination advice!! Jerk chicken was worth the wait, and with a little of the jerk shrimp sauce on the rice… I couldn’t even speak while eating – I just devoured it all the manager who I believe was working at the register could’ve been a little nicer – and nicer to her staff as well, but otherwise, an incredible experience. We will DEFINITELY be back, and ready to try some more!!

Also, the ambience, lighting and music in the back dining area were incredible!! Made me feel like we were somewhere in the Caribbean 🙂

Its not everyday that I go around giving out 5* reviews, but while in Miami this week I discovered a Jamaican restaurant call Jrk. Oh my goodness, I had the Ital soup, lord it was absolutely delicious, no meat just veggies…pure delight. For my main I got a oxtail and jerk chicken combo with some fancy fried rice topped with steam veggies!! The food was refreshingly, clean, not too much spice, meat tender and succulent! The best $40 ever spent on a meal that was totally orgasmic!!! This place is a must try…Jrk, keep up the good work!!!

The food is good but the serving is definitely not worth it. My Bowl was $28, I received literally 5 oxtails, I asked for a little more and he told me that would be an extra charge and two scoops of rice, I asked for gravy and and vegetables and he took the spoon got one potato and said anything else.

Food is always good they give love portions. Only downfall about my last visit is that the manager was yelling at the lady fixing my bowl. Saying her friendship with the cashier will cost her her job and continued to yell at her and chastise her in front of everyone. That was a conversation that should have been had in private not in front of a full restaurant.

Ordered food from here via Uber Eats. They had a Buy1 get 1 free on Jerk Chicken. I am Jamaican. This place did not disappoint. The food was fresh and flavourful. I was surprised at how fast it was delivered to my hotel. From the pictures online, they restaurant seems new and clean.
