I like the idea of a very simple menu, with sandwiches and wraps, pizza, wings and some fried items. Our waitress was outstanding she made great cocktails. I love the story about the restaurant on the menu it really sets the whole scene. My husband and I really enjoyed it. If you want a quick bite to eat, we’ll here ya go.

Great staff!!! Very well put together downstairs bar, not over the top with extra lighting, modest and welcoming. I tried the house special for the night. Pizza panini, amazingly good and more then what I expected. Good food, good service and great beer selection. What more can you ask of a small town bar?!?

It’s a cute little bar in downtown Washington, Iowa. I love the basement atmosphere, like you’re drinking and having fun during the prohibition. We attended there to support a friend who was performing live. Upon arrival, the bar staff told us to sit anywhere we wanted. We waited for 30 minutes, and I proceeded to walk up to the bar to order food and drinks. I was told that the wait staff would come around shortly. I sat back down and waited another 30 minutes. Others who came in after us ordered and got their food and drinks. It was like my wife and I were invisible. I went back to the bar and ordered drinks and food. After another 30 minutes, we got our drinks and food. My wife loves a good ol’ old-fashioned, and she said it was mostly water. I had a draft beer and the portion size was quite small for an $18 appetizer. I never got a bill and had to wait quite some time to pay my bill. If I had a choice, I would never go back. I’ve been to a lot of bars, and I’ve never had to wait 90 minutes to hold a beer. I had looked the menu up online before visiting – I would’ve ordered considerably more food if the service wasn’t so terrible.
