The place was recommended so we gave it a try. My son absolutely loves the Jollof and I enjoyed it as well. No one was here but it’s close to closing so I’m glad there isn’t a big rush.

They’re food is the best, I love the egunsi soup and the jollof rice. Clean environment and great service also. In fact, anytime I decided not to cook, it’s only going to be their food cos I have tried like 3 other African restaurants in the area, none meet up to their standards.

Looking into more African places to eat. Now that I know dodo is fried plantains, Ill have to add to my order 🙂 Yes, going to different culture restaurants gives and education and the menu here is no exception. The menu items are in are in Nigerian dialect that I need to ask. They have translations in english, but that not the point of coming to an ethnic restaurant. There were no customers on the establishment but the customer service was great. However, starting to notice that when I eat my food in the establishment, the food is good but when carry out, the food is over cooked (stock fish) and very small portions for the money you pay. This is a big deal so not sure if I will frequent this place especially when I’m not that close.

I now understand why this place had no customers.
1. The food is overpriced.
2. The rice tasted old—its texture made that obvious.
3. The plantains had a strange taste and texture. They were dry and completely flavorless.
4. The beef—oh my. It was tough, bland, and served in a ridiculously small portion. I need to emphasize the portion size again—it was tiny.
When I cut the beef in half and took a bite, I immediately realized it wasn’t good.
I went to the counter and politely asked if I could swap the beef for fish instead. I was told “No.”—unless I paid for an entirely new plate. The reason? Because I had already taken a bite. Well, yes, I had—how else would I know it was bad?
Overall, this place deserves zero stars.
They didn’t have any drinks available either.
The customer service was poor—they simply didn’t care whether I was satisfied or not. They got their $35, and that was the end of it. We won’t be back, and we’ll make sure our friends and family know this place is not worth their time or money.
As for the ambiance—it was clean, but it was clear they don’t get many customers. Now I understand why.

Absolutely RUDE! I went in with the intent of purchasing meal but was completely turned off because I asked for a cup of hot water to sit my baby’s bottle in. Would you believe these sick heads told me no. Obviously I got up and left.
I hate that I didn’t have a better experience or make it to the opportunity to experience the cuisine. However, my experience was far from “Joyful” due to the simple fact that in any establishment a cup of hot water should never be an issue. I recommend that you spend your money elsewhere. Miss Flo’s African cuisine is right across the parking lot and has always been a pleasant Aunt experience. I love her jerk chicken.!!!

The brown skin man with the beard tried charge me $34 for a mini bowl of Egusi and pounded yam. Told him that was way too pricey & he was rude and tried to talk me down on the price by $2 . On the site it says $17.99 scammers lol

Small but neat place, tucked away in a nondescript strip mall. Totally worth exploring though. Friendly and fast service. Small but quintessential menu, focused around jollof rice, but also featuring fufu, and various soups. I had the jollof, plantain, and goat meat combo. Flavorful and spicy without being overpowering. Simply delicious.

First time here. Very nice welcoming atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. I had okra stew with a mix of meats, with pounded yam. Loved the flavor. I’m not west African so YMMV, but I was happy with the dish. Loved watching soap operas while eating. Taking out one star because price was a bit steep ($25 for one stew, portion is adequate). I’d like to go back if I can get a bit more food for the price. Blessings!

Not all West African cuisine can cook Cassava leaf. Please be careful the West African cuisine you go and order this dish especially this location. Under cooked cassava leaf, no palm oil like it should be, sandy when steered so not sure if it was properly washed cassava Leaf, two small pieces of “beef”, the “beef” had an odor too. Could not be eaten just looking at it. The owner is very unprofessional and will try to convince you to taste the food. Please don’t go there and get sick. The health inspector needs to visit this restaurant for their food, atmosphere and service. Don’t say I didn’t alert you.
