A nice little shop for a quick fulfilling bite. My favorite scallion pancake in San Diego. The cumin lamb is one of the best I’ve had. I liked the boiled fish as well despite not really being one for seafood. It tasted like tilapia but I was told it’s a “dragon fish”. Big portions so don’t go too crazy. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Will be back!

All around a great place to eat with friends and family. We loved the scallion pancakes, steam dumplings, and the beef and green beans. Great value for your food. Service was great too. Definitely adding to my regular food shop list.

I really like this place! The first time I tried Joyee’s was at 99 Ranch, and now they closed the 99 ranch location and have new locations at Poway and 4s ranch. That’s nice because it’s closer to where I live. All the foods I’ve tried so far are pretty nice. I really love the shredded pork with wood ears 鱼香肉丝, also the cucumber salad. Their service is very sweet and friendly as well.

I had a really disappointing experience and feel it’s important to share. I ordered online through the restaurant’s website, which was very easy to use. In the notes section, I specifically requested utensils, no condiments, and no onion. I ordered the Mongolian Beef. While I know this dish often includes onions, there was no description listed online, which is why I made the note requesting no onion. There was also no indication that the dish would be spicy.

When I went in to pay, the restaurant was empty. The man assisting me came across as a bit rude, but I brushed it off. Once I got home, I realized the dish was covered in onions, jalapeños, and red pepper, and it was extremely spicy. This wasn’t something my children could eat, and it wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu. On top of that, despite requesting utensils, none were included.

I called to explain the situation. He told me that my receipt didn’t say “no onion” and stated he was looking at it right then. I calmly explained that I had included it in the notes and also mentioned that the menu didn’t note the spice level. He didn’t believe me. I told him a friend could come pick up the corrected order since my kids were already seated for dinner.

His response was dismissive and rude: “I don’t care who picks it up. Your order number is 23.”

When my friend arrived, she was polite and explained she was picking up food for a friend. The man came out, said, “I don’t know if she wanted anything else, it’s just beef,” and threw the container onto the counter, causing it to slide. My friend had to catch it. She was shocked by the behavior and said she had never experienced anything like that.

I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was beyond an “off day.” The attitude toward both me and my friend was unacceptable. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, because of this experience, I won’t be returning.

10/10. We had a flavor blast in our taste bud trying this place for the first time & absolutely on our repeat list now! Had the most flavorful cabbage We ever had, attention to details & spice levels was perfect! Even loved the cute cutlery(fish shaped spoons). The lady attending to us also spoke to us asking feedback which definitely gave a personalized touch.Chinese was never better, my greedy self would appreciate an add of fortune cookie if possible

The two ladies working when we were there were really nice and friendly. This place was busy with people coming in to order take out or dining in.

It had a lot of good reviews but I thought the food was ok. I love Singapore noodles and theirs was too wet and a little on the plain side. We did like the onion pancake and the spicy wontons. Their hot’n’sour soup was good too.

The xiao long bao was brought out in the steamer without a plate underneath. The dumplings were stuck to the paper or each other so when you lifted it out of the steamer, it ripped and leaked all the soup onto the table. What a disappointment. And the wrapping was too thick and doughy. I wouldn’t recommend ordering those.
The egg custard buns were not good either. We took a bite and it was gritty and powdery inside. It didn’t have the consistency of a custard for the filling. We didn’t finish it.

This was our first time in this restaurant yesterday except for our oldest daughter who has been here before. We were a party of 12 and I called to make a reservation. I was a little worried about the service and the quality of the food. We ate at their sister restaurant in 4S Ranch a few months ago and were not impressed with the dishes and the service . When we arrived, a server was preparing our table. She was very welcoming and attentive. The dishes were very tasty and large portion. The service was fast. We’ll definitely be back again.

Did you know that there’s only one of two places that serves a traditional Taiwanese breakfast in San Diego?! This hidden gem in is Joyees . I recently visited the Poway location where they have an extensive menu with over 20 traditional items like a pork rice roll, jian bing and housemade soy milk. I also love their creative items like the Chinese donut topped with black sesame mochi and the sticky rice shumai.

Pork crispy burger: flakey Chinese pancake stuffed with tender braised pork
Jian bing: egg scallion pancake filled with pork floss
Pork rice roll: filled with pork floss, Chinese donut, hot dog and radish
Donut with mochi: Chinese donut topped with a chewy black sesame mochi
Salted tofu jelly: silken tofu in a savory sauce
Rice porridge: with thousand year old egg and pork
Soymilk: housemade sweet soymilk

Joyee’s Breakfast hours are 8:00-11:30am Saturday and Sunday at both locations:

Torrey Highlands: 7825 Highlands Village Pl, Ste E, San Diego, CA
12334 Poway Rd,Poway, CA 92064

Went there for breakfast, salty egg yolk rice balls, they are ok especially if you are on a saltier side. The youtiao was a bit way too hard for me to bite, probably it was cooked for more than a few times. Jian Bing was ok. We ordered hot soy milk as well. Total $23 before tax
