All this for 8.95?! Weekday lunch specials til 3pm are a steal deal! Food was almost a 10/10 most the chicken was pretty lean but some fat pieces got left behind and that’s the only reason I gave a 9 instead of a 10. Service was a little bland but oh well.

Today my husband and I decided to re-try Joy Teriyaki. My last two experiences with them, which happened to be eight or nine years ago was less than satisfactory, I vowed then it would be a very long time until I tried them again.
With our normal Chinese food place, Golden Star, still being temporarily closed we decided today to take the leap and try Joy Teriyaki once again and we felt they redeemed themselves so we will be willing to try them again in near future.

So, today I ordered General Tso’s Chicken with white rice, and my husband ordered Yakisoba noodles with white rice.
Since General Tso’s chicken can change some depending on what region it comes from, I have no way of comparing it with what may be truly an authentic General Tso’s; my comparison is between what I have tried or experienced locally.

General Tso’s today was intricate but satisfactory. There was plenty of meat, veggies, some sweetness, and a noticeable background of rice vinegar that made this dish more tangy than sweet. I do miss having a little bit of heat, IMO this General Tso’s had no heat.

Yakisoba Noodles is what my husband ordered, of course, we shared.
I enjoyed the noodles, we both did, pleasant flavoring and enough sauce to make the noodles pliable!
Again, Yakisoba noodles can be made a little differently depending on the area and the restaurant itself; some restaurant makes it with oyster sauce others prefer umami flavoring, in all honesty, I couldn’t tell, they were just good!

This time around, we chose not to try the Asian coleslaw that came with the meals.

To me, the pricing seemed in accordance with the local area, decent size for a lunch, and depending on how large of an eater you are, it may be a decent size for a dinner as well!

Joy’s restaurant, what I could see of the inside appeared clean, but slightly dated. A large portion of the restaurant was blocked off to discourage people from eating or gathering inside, the only thing I found a little obtrusive was the corkboard with a lot of business cards on it, I really do understand why people do it, especially nowadays with so many lost jobs, you really do have to put yourself out there in any way possible; competition is fierce, none the less it looked a little bit out of place IMO.
The person that took our order, was friendly, funny, and polite and cheerful, thank you for that!

For anyone who is not aware of the location of Joy Teriyaki, they are located in the Fred Meyer shopping area. 5050 WA-303 Suite 105 in Bremerton.
Since Joy Teriyaki shares a parking lot with several other businesses like Fred Meyer, Little Caesars Pizza, Subway, Great Clips, and more, depending on the time of day or if it’s a Holiday the parking can become treacherous but most of the time you’ll be able to find some parking.

In my opinion, if you haven’t tried Joy Teriyaki you should if for no other reason you will be supporting a small local business and small businesses could really use the extra help!

Happy 2021!!! Remember Covid is affecting everyone, so please stay safe and stay healthy!!!

I didn’t expect much going in, but we really enjoyed the food here. Teriyaki, General Tso, and Orange Chicken. Everything was good and fresh. Recommended!

We are moving to Bremerton and tried this place . NEVER AGAIN….. Tiny little shrimps that all had poop in them (I expect it to a point, but so unappetizing). Restaurant was dirty and very outdated. I felt bad for the lady that took our order. She was trying to keep up with the tables and taking orders.

Wierd vibes as soon as u walk in. The young lady taking our order was on the phone the entire time and cussing alot and very loudly spitting out every cuss word in the book. Her favorite one to use being the f word. Ive never seen something like that its was very uncomfortable to watch. A guy came out of the kitchen finally to tell her to stop cussing and she talked back saying ” u cant talk to me like that!” i was flabbergasted hearing that. I dont know just an odd environment and not professional at all. I dont see how that is acceptable in any sort of professional setting or how she didnt get fired. Hope the person she was screaming at over the phone is OK. Food was soggy and gross as well, we ended up throwing most of it away. Will never come here agian.

They argued with my carer about getting Mongolian Beef without rice. Wanted sautéed veggies instead of rice or salad (have to watch carbs and can not eat uncooked vegetables at all)
Price is listed at $8.45 on Google and $10.95 on the menu platform. Was charged $12.95
Instead of sautéed/stir fried vegetables, I was given at $11.95 Vegetable Delight.
The Mongolian Beef is mostly onions, I had to search for the beef, and it looks like canned LA Choy chop suey and tastes like it has the same sauce as the vegetable delight.
Will not eat here again. This used to be my goto teriyaki never again.

Save your money and go to Happy or Yummy.

Fairly good food but terrible price. There are many good dishes on the menu including spicy chicken, teriyaki, yakisoba, shrimp, California roll, and tuna melt sushi. There are also select udon soups and combo dishes. The teriyaki and gyoza are delicious and the sushi is fresh. Unfortunately for two meals and water the price was over $30. You can just as easily find 1 of the literally 50 teriyaki restaraunts in Silverdale and bremerton and pay a fraction of the cost. The quality does not match the price, however the food is very tasty. Recommend at least one visit to see for yourself.
