Joy of Tokyo on Pelham Road is always a great experience! The food is fresh, flavorful, and comes out quickly, which makes it perfect for both a sit-down meal or a takeout option. The staff is always very nice—friendly, polite, and they make sure you’re well taken care of every time.
It’s consistent, clean, and has that welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back. Definitely one of my go-to spots in the area!

Good food at a fair price, with generous portions and solid quality.

I ordered online, and the process was easy, and the sushi was delicious. They have simple rolls, but they are fresh and good. You can’t beat their pricing. Their customer service was lackluster, and it seemed as though I was bothering the woman when I came to pick up my food. I ordered to go, the inside of the restaurant is very simple and you would still order at the counter.

Great place to grab dinner ,sushi, fried rice and miso soup. Walked for the courtyard Marriot to grab some sushi.
Split a beef and chicken and a tempura plate with the wife. Also ordered Salmon sushi.
Beef and chicken both came with fried rice, it would have been perfect portion for one person but the tempura plate also came with fried rice so we were a little overloaded with fried rice.
The fried rice was tasty just the same. The salmon sushi was average nothing special but not bad either. The Miso soup was a basic Miso from a paste. Same thing it tasted good but wasn’t anything special.
Price was fair for a much good as wee got. It would have been nice to be able to just add tempura to an existing plate, but it worked out.
I will add that they had some kind of magical mayo sauce. It was sweet and tangy but definitely Asian inspired. Everything was good but I did I have to wrestle the last container from my wife’s grip!

Have been going to this JOT for many years but haven’t been there in a while. We ordered hibachi steak and chicken with no onion and I did not notice until after I sat down that they charged me an extra dollar for no onions. When my husband went up there to complain, they just said that they gave us extra vegetables instead of onions, but we didn’t ask for that, we simply wanted them to leave off onions and they charged us. The vegetable portion was not any bigger than usual, so they didn’t even give us extra vegetables. We absolutely will not be back.

Been going there for 10 years. Great food and great service. I can count on 1 hand how many times something was incorrect. I go here a few times a week.

I used to go to this location all the time before moving out of SC. I loved it so much, and I really wish there was a location in the Rochester, NY area. This may be strange to leave in a Google review, but please set up locations up here in NY. I dream of the great taste and value of Joy of Tokyo, and I would love to share it here.

Used Uber Eats….Dude, are you serious? These Uber Eats orders are automated, all printed out, no confusion (oh, I’m sorry Mr. Customer, I didn’t hear you ask for that item)…no, it’s all printed out.
But yet, you missed nearly $20 worth of items. How???
Thank God, Uber Eats does give a credit for the missing items. But now, my wife is going to the local hibachi store to get the bottle of White Sauce that you left out, and more spring rolls that you left out.
The whole purpose of us placing this Uber Eats order was because we didn’t want to leave.
Attention to detail…does anyone have it anymore????

The food was good, and there was not too much of a wait time. The portions were very disappointing though. The main entree was steak and shrimp, not rice….
