This place deserves 5 starts for what it is: some of the best American Chinese food around. General Tao’s chicken is great (I asked for it extra extra spicy). Beef chow fun is solid. Takeout service is fast and efficient. It’s not overly greasy and ingredients are good quality. I called in an order at 5:40, left my house, picked up some wine and then the food, and was back at my house by 6:00pm.

I will never be going back to Joy Luck ever again! I got two large bags of food worth $187.62. The woman told me the bags were heavy. I put them in my trunk for a 10 minute car ride home. My daughter lifted the bag from my trunk and the paper bag broke. Some of the food fell out in my trunk, some fell to the driveway. The paper bag broke because it was wet with condensation, not because of the weight. What did the woman say when I called her to let her know that the salt and pepper shrimp we had ordered was on our driveway? “I told you the bag was heavy.” Ummm…no, the bag didn’t break because the food was too heavy. The paper bag broke because it was soaked with the condensation because of the way the food was packed. The woman said they could not do anything about our $17 order after we had just spent nearly $200? I refuse to go back there because of their poor customer service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

These photos are of the grease that came out of my egg roll. Chicken wings tasted of soap and were of poor quality. Chicken fingers dry and soapy tasting. Threw it all in the trash. Basically a waste of money. Would not recommend.

Food was good, came around 9:13pm near closing time and the lady was very kind to let me order some takeout. Salt and Pepper pork combo was tasty.

The only Chinese take out place we order from, even though we have another place closer. Can’t go wrong with General Gau’s chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, honey chicken, spicy edamame, Singapore rice noodle and more. We always know what to expect – it’s consistent and delicious.

This food is bland af. While I appreciated the fresh and snappy broccoli & carrots and the tender beef in the Beef & Broccoli, I sadly missed the delicious taste of oyster sauce (a staple ingredient in this dish). The Hot & Sour soup is just hot & (somehow) oily. Where is the delicious tangy sour part? Is it really even Hot & Sour soup without vinegar? The General Tao’s Chicken tasted good but was made with stringy frozen breaded chicken. Everything tasted a little off and I’m blaming the water. For the $$, this is a pass.

Good food. Horrible service. Look, I am not trying to be rude, but if they don’t know English, how are we gonna communicate? The woman in the phone was just horrible to speak with and understand. Please, get someone who can speak well. I understand she tried but she sounds like she hates her job. I don’t blame her. But if you want to work and be able to communicate with customers, please, do it well.
