It’s definitely worth a try! We have gone 4 or 5 times now, and the food ranged from excellent to good. The spring rolls are consistently good, and we get the peppered beef noodles every time ( hoping to have leftovers to bring home, but it’s only happened once)! Very nice staff too!

I love eating at Joy House and brought my family in just the other week! The employees and service are so kind and give great service, the head chef and owner greeted us himself! The food was delicious and is consistent, and came out quickly! The fresh potstickers are our favorites. Don’t forget to ask about any specials they might have.

My first time at Joy House. I really liked the filling and thin crispy wrapping of the spring rolls, but thought that they were too oily and preferred if they could have skipped the red coloring in the sweet and sour sauce. Again, the filling was fantastic and very authentic. The beef in the beef chow fun was really tasty and tender, but the noodles were also too oily for my taste. The service was great and the cook was very accomodating. 5+ stars for service. Really great and hard working folks. I will give them another try sometime soon again.

Had a great meal at Joy House. Everything was really good, I ordered the Tangerine Chicken and it was amazing. The prices were reasonable and although the portions looked small when they first came out they were more than enough. The flavors were authentic and the ingredients seemed fresh as though they were shopped local. I will definitely return and check out other items on the menu.

We were in Joy House for lunch. They have a lunch menu with so many yummy items and reasonable prices. The regular menu is also available at lunchtime with many more delicious dishes and reasonable prices as well.
The dining room is comfortable, and the only waitress is handling the dining room very well. All my friends are fully satisfied with the food and service.

The restaurant environment is clean and comfortable. Very oriental. Most importantly, the dishes produced in the restaurant are all very tasty. If you want to eat Chinese food. Joy house is definitely recommended. Pork with salted vegetable(梅菜扣肉),Claret its color, shape oval, meat rotten glue, fat but not greasy, thin rather than firewood, mellow taste from others.

This is hands down one of the most authentic and delicious Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to in the U.S.! The Yu Xiang Rou Si (fish-fragrant shredded pork) has the perfect tangy kick and just the right balance of salt. The Chongqing Spicy Chicken is super crispy on the outside, juicy inside, with that addictive numbing spice. I’ll definitely be coming back often! The chef is from Beijing, and they can even make traditional Beijing Lu Zhu if you call ahead to reserve, absolutely amazing!

I had weekend lunch here with a party of six. Some folks ordered the lunch combo specials (which wa. offered even on the weekend) and others ordered entrees. I was able to sample a bit from their orders. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and modern. It had a relaxing vibe.
Miranda, the waitress, was fantastic. Since she was the only waitress, she was busy. The husband and wife owners also work at the restaurant. He is the chef and she helps in the kitchen. He used to be a chef at Chef Chu’s restaurant in Los Altos.
Now let me tell ya about the food:
The cuisine ranges from Hunan, Szechuan, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Hot and Sour Soup- Pure deliciousness! Luved it. Savory, spicy, and tangy. Beautiful thick, glossy broth.
Pork Fried Rice- It was prepared well. No oiliness. Rice was fluffy and fresh tasting.
Prawns and Lobster Sauce- Gorgeous color on the prawns and vegetables. Classic Cantonese flavors.
Boiled Fish and Pickled Cabbage- This dish was new to me. The entree is prepared like a soup. Besides the large chunks of white fish, it had glass noodles and pickled cabbage. The broth had an intended slight sour taste. To be honest, my first sip threw off my tastebuds and confused them. But after several more sips, the flavors grew on me. I had enjoyed it.
Spicy Beef Combo- This is one of their signature dishes. I have never had this before, so I gave it a go. It was thin slices of cooked beef mixed with honeycomb tripe, bamboo shoots, and what tasted like chopped pine nuts. It was all served in chili oil. The tripe was thinly sliced as well. The beef was tender and had a melt in your mouth texture. The dominant flavor was the chili oil, it had a “kick”. This was another dish that at first bite, the texture and flavors put my tastebuds on alert. But gradually it grew on me.
Yu- Shang Shredded Pork- This was my favorite dish. It was delicious! Besides the shredded pork, it had bamboo shoots, wood ear mushroom, carrots, green onion, and bell peppers in a chili sauce. Lots of flavors.

For Mother’s Day dinner, we went to a Chinese restaurant in Rocklin that was pretty cute. We shared everything between the three of us but we had ordered Sweet & Sour chicken, chicken chow mein, and 8pc potstickers. Apparently this restaurant gives you free wonton chips for your table which I have never seen done before but was a huge plus in my book. It was accompanied with a sweet sauce. The food was really good and definitely filling enough for 3 people to split 2 dishes and an appetizer. The server was extremely nice and towards the end of our meal, an employee came out and gave us carnations for Mother’s Day. If you are in the Rocklin area, I highly recommend giving Joy House a try.
