We were very happy with our first experience here. The restaurant started off fairly mellow, however as the evening progressed it was quick to fill up. We were sat down in the basement which felt like a good spot when it was empty. As it started to fill up, it felt like a lot of people. All of the staff was very friendly and we were happy with our waiter.

We started with the la scala salad, very good 8.5/10. Really good flavor and everything tasted fresh. Next we had the winter citrus salad, a good option as well 7/10. The ember oak carrots were just alright, the whipped feta the came with them was a real winner 6/10. We also had one of their pizza specials which had beef cheek and great ricotta on it 8.5/10.

For our entrees we had the pretzel crusted pork Milanese, which fell a little short 5.5/10. I found the piece of pork to be a little tough and the pork tasted better once you removed the coating off of it. The mixed veggies that were served with it was very good. For the other entree we had the chicken saltimbocca which was exceptional 9/10. We were very happy with this option and will be back for it again. We decided to end with the home made cannolis which were a mistake, 4/10, very oily and not a lot of flavor, just tasted like they had soaked up bad oil and sat around for awhile.

We were very happy with our time here and we look forward to coming back again soon.

Special attention to detail with ambiance and decor. Such an intimate experience in a full restaurant. Attentive and knowledgeable team was impressive as well as deeply appreciated. Libations were spectacular and unique. Fritto Misto and Foccia were perfect and shareable size was perfect for our party of four. Elk Bolognese, Lobster Diavolo, Butternut Squash Agnolotti and Gnocchetti with Oven Roasted Marrow
were spectacular! Comfort food on a chilly evening were perfectly plated and tableside attention sharing with family was a memorable experience! A wow evening in LoDo worthy of a return visit soon.

The atmosphere was okay and the service were great! The food was not up to par for the price . The pizza we ordered was way too salty and according to the waitress, the sausage is “usually salty” . And the Ravioli sauce was salty as well. Again, apparently the ravioli “ is usually salty “ too. I don’t think that kind of an excuse was acceptable.

We thought we will end it with the dessert , the tiramisu we ordered the cocoa was way too much and the melted chocolate was thick and the server spilt them all over the plate and the table .

For all the bad experience we had, the didn’t charge our drinks .

My partner and I dined here last weekend for our 1 year anniversary and requested downstairs in Soto Voce. They did not disappoint!! We sat at a small candlit table in a cut out nook. It was so incredibly romantic Our server was absolutely amazing as well (I didnt catch the tall blonde man’s name but he killed it!) He was very knowledgeable and walked us through our options as we are both gluten free/celiac and everything was delicious! Multiple staff members wished us a happy anniversary and were all super friendly. Definitely would recommend and come back again!

First time at Jovanina’s and it absolutely exceeded every expectation! We arrived a bit early for our reservation and were more than happy to wait, but the staff graciously seated us right away — such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the night. Every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely personable.

Our server was fantastic — fun, knowledgeable, and clearly well versed in the food & drink menu. I trusted all of his recommendations, and I’m so glad I did.

The focaccia and fritto misto were the perfect start — the focaccia was pillowy and flavorful (we’re still dreaming about it!), and the fritto misto was so perfectly seasoned we couldn’t stop eating it. For our entrées, we had the Elk Bolognese and Chicken Saltimbocca, both absolutely incredible. Every bite was balanced, rich, and memorable — we talked about the food all weekend!

Jovanina’s manages to strike that rare balance of elevated and approachable — impeccable food, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that feels cozy and special. We can’t wait to come back!

We came to dinner at Jovanina’s to celebrate our elopement. They went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated. Dominic was an amazing waiter. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and answered all the questions we had. He was very attentive and provided excellent service. We could not be happier with dinner. The bone marrow pasta was out of this world so we’re the oysters. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks Dominic and Jovanina’s for making our night special<3

Seating: The tables were way too close together. It felt like we were on a double date with the couple next to us. We felt like we couldn’t have a normal conversation or talk about anything private. There was maybe 8 inches between the tables. Our bill was $400 and I would have appreciated a better seating arrangement for that price.

Food: The meals were good but I don’t think I would do a pre-set $125 per person course again. Everything we ate tasted like lemon. It was too much food.. we couldn’t eat the desert and got it to go. I would have enjoyed this more if we could have ordered on our own. Sharing one app and one pasta would have been plenty!

Overall good food but not worth a $400 night out. Also I was charged for an extra glass of wine and didn’t notice until we got home. 🙁

Have been here three times. First time was about a year and a half ago and we sat at the bar and had a lovely experience. Second time was fine, not as good, but fine.

Then tonight came. From the jump it was a weird experience. Server was strange. Can’t really describe it better, maybe spread thin and not good at multi tasking, idk. But fine.

Next we ordered a gluten free pizza and gluten free pasta. Listen, being gluten free is newer, but I also have realistic expectations. The pizza crust is underwhelming and wasn’t thoroughly cooked, but flavor was solid so was fine. Then we had ordered a $45 lobster pasta (plus gluten free upcharge) and it came with basically no lobster, the pasta was half undercooked and half overcooked, as if some pasta was left in the pot and they just added more water and pasta and cooked it all together. The diavolo sauce was lacking any flavor or consistency along with lacking lobster.

It was legit terrible. And before you hit us with the why go to an Italian place when you’re celiac… have you been to Tavernetta? Because they’ve mastered it. Have you had Marco’s gluten free pizza? Top tier.

So I’d say don’t waste your money whether gluten free or blessed to be able to eat gluten. Go to Tavernetta, go to Coperta if you can eat gluten. Don’t go here.

Plus side… nice drinks.

Absolutely Incredible Experience – 10/10!

We celebrated my mom’s birthday at Jovanina’s with a few groups of friends, and it was truly an unforgettable night. We were lucky enough to sit at the floating table in the middle of the restaurant, which made the experience even more special.

From start to finish, everything was amazing. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and efficient. They take everyone’s order at the same time, which helped keep things smooth for a larger group. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. The sausage funnel pizza was a standout—seriously, do not skip it! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared.

The atmosphere, the service, and the incredible food all made for a perfect evening. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! Highly recommend Jovanina’s for any special occasion—or just because. We’ll definitely be back!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Denver!! Everything about this place is so unique and so special. You can tell how much love went into every single detail there. It’s my ‘go-to’ restaurant to celebrate special occasions with friends and family – but it’s also my favorite place to go if I’m dining alone and just want a delicious cocktail and light meal at the bar.
The food is exquisite and the menu is always an awesome work in progress with updates made frequently – which keeps me coming back for more!
I’ve eaten upstairs, downstairs, in the special prohibition tunnel table-for-two, as well as at the bar. Each experience just adds to how incredible this place is.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Charlie, the manager, always greats me with a smile and a big hug. It feels like family there – a big happy Italian family. And my favorite bartender is John L – his craft cocktails are truly something special and he makes you feel right at home. Which is always what you hope for when you’re dining alone.
I always love bringing new people here with me. And they always end up loving it such as I do! Such a special place!
