This small, family owned, permanent food truck is the best hidden gem in Socorro county. Great pet friendly outdoor seating and they usually give out “pup cups” of whipped cream to the dogs. The green chilie cheese burger is great. The ice cream and shakes are always awesome and the smoothies are good too. There is always something new added to the menu and limited time items as well. If you are passing through the area you have to stop in and Journey will take great care of you.

The food is amazing and the price is great. This is a place I recommend for everyone to visit here. We got an Escondido Burger and chili cheese friend. Outstanding!! After I got mango Ice cream and Triple chocolate in a waffle cone. So refreshing in the heat. I can’t wait to be back in that area to visit again

Back when we lived in the Southeast, we would occasionally go to a chain called Cookout for comfort food, especially milkshakes with numerous additions. So we when moved out to New Mexico, we lamented the loss of a spot to grab some comfort food on a bad day. Until we learned about Journey’s Place.

Incredible value. Best burger for the money anywhere. It is rustic. Slow. Casual. Great for the end of the day of driving the nearby trails. Mostly locals. Don’t go here if you are in a rush and expecting McDonald’s speed. Slow down. Chill!

Best green chili cheese burger in Socorro. Easily better than Blake’s. Fresh roasted green chili, nicely seasoned patties, fresh, crispy lettuce, thick tomatoes, toasted sesame seed buns . I’ll definitely be coming back for the burgers the fries were a little bit undercooked but that can be easily fixed.

This is a delightful roadside cafe. The menu is relatively simple, but the items available are well prepared. The burgers are good, and my favorite is the Escondida Burger with bacon and green Chile. I also recommend the onion rings. During my last visit, my table also had an indian taco and special burger steak which were tasty and filling. They have a huge variety of ice cream, shakes, Italian sodas, and snow cones to top off your meal. The seating can be very pleasant, with fragrant flowers next to your shady table. The service is basic order/pick up at the window and usually very fast.

Such a fun place to catch a quick burger or taco. Friendly service with all the help you may need to make your food choices. The taco burger with green chilie hit the spot, and the ice cream afterwards was the best way to end lunch. Outdoor seating, with shaded seats topped the experience off. Definitely will be returning.

If you’re on I-25 near Socorro, NM then just ignore all the other restaurants in town and go this place. It’s completely off the beaten path, but when you taste the food you will know it was worth it.

Delicious! We got Escondida Sopapilla burgers and green Chile cheese fries- YUMMY! Talk about a hidden gem! The outside where you sit, is very nicely decorated with plenty of shade. The portions are large so I would suggest sharing the burger, gcc fries and then get some fried pickles and a cup of icecream. It was nicely priced! Definitely will be back!
