Thanks tho,
If you love seafood, it’s a must-stop.
If you tend to be cold bring a sweater it’s chilly inside (68). Food is pricey but it is fresh and tasty. Also pretty sure only place that imports from Alaska anywhere off the Gulf Coast, we were told our crap was a live eight days ago.. Crab dip came out quickly and was just about gone before I was able to snap a picture, LOL. It did take a while for our main platter. We got the Poseidon that serves up to four. I’d plan on at least two hours from sitting to finishing the meal. Possibly longer if there’s more in your group.. We did end up taking some home. Server was nice but busy. We did have a bit of a wait for refills of drinks or for them to come around and check on us. Manager/owner did stop by table and was present around the restaurant. Overall great experience!
Ps I do give you a warm finger bath w/lemon to clean up!
We had to wait 30 minutes even with a reservation but that didn’t even matter. Our server took our drink and appetizer orders and then just absolutely disappeared. Luckily our appetizer was brought out by someone as our original waiter vanished. Eventually we flagged down a waitress from another section but I promise you it had been an hour since we got our appetizer. It literally got dark in that time. Luckily the food was excellent but with that bad of an issue I’d honestly expect more than a comped appetizer.
Horrible first impression of what is supposed to be one of the best restaurants on the coast and luckily we didn’t let it ruin our anniversary, it sure ruined my chances for anything once we got home 2 hours after we should have though as my wife went straight to bed.
We started with a pound of the royal red shrimp and a bowl of seafood gumbo. The shrimp were huge, seasoned perfectly, and came with melted butter on the side. The seafood gumbo was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and a nice scoop of rice on top. A great start.
For our main course, we ordered the filet cooked medium rare, and it came out just right — tender and full of flavor. It was served with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and a giant piece of roasted bone marrow that really took things to the next level. We also tried the tuna dip which was smoky, creamy, and served with crispy crackers and toppings that added a nice pop of flavor.
We finished with dessert and could not resist ordering both the bread pudding and the chocolate cake. The bread pudding was warm and comforting with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel. The chocolate cake was rich and fudgy with just the right amount of sweetness.
Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and the service made it even better. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in a while and we will definitely be coming back. If you are anywhere near Kiln, Mississippi, this place is a must.
