I ordered the French Dip Sandwich, a dish I typically enjoy trying when it appears on a restaurant’s menu. The sandwich exceeded my expectations. The bread was toasted yet remained soft, the caramelized onions added just the right amount of flavor without being overpowered, and the meat was tender and well-prepared. The au jus complemented the sandwich perfectly, bringing all the flavors together. The fries were also excellent—lightly fried, not greasy, and they maintained their crispness throughout the meal.
My wife ordered the classic breakfast, which included eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sausage. The scrambled eggs were lightly seasoned, the bacon was crispy, and the potatoes were moist and soft. The sausage was served as a link cut into medallions and was particularly flavorful.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and plan to return to try both the breakfast and dinner menus.
I ordered the hash and it was — super flavorful, hearty, and exactly what you want at brunch. Short rib, pork belly, crispy potatoes, and runny eggs.
Kids were happy too, which matters. One got the grilled chicken and cleaned the plate. The burger was a hit
Service was friendly and on point, food came out quick, and the place has a chill vibe without feeling basic. Definitely a spot we’d come back to, especially for a relaxed weekend brunch that works for the whole family.
The brunch menu is very limited, and they do not offer the regular menu on the side. We chose to share the Duck Confit Benedict and a side of potatoes. The duck confit benedict is rich, tender duck paired with perfectly poached eggs and smooth hollandaise on an English muffin. Indulgent, well-balanced, and a standout brunch choice. The potatoes were delicious too.
Service was a little slow, and the ambient music is very low—you can barely hear it. The tables are spaced so far apart that the place feels a bit unfinished. That said, the food makes up for the downsides. This will definitely be a great spot before a play at the theater or during parade days, but it feels like it still needs a few finishing touches. They do not offer complimentary parking, and valet is available for $25.
Overall, I see a lot of potential. Keep up the good work!
For starters we have the delicious Devil’s River Braised Pork Belly. Don’t be fooled! This was jam packed with flavor! The complimentary Bread service was perfectly soft and warm with a whipped youngblood honey butter that left you wanting more.
My husband had the Bordeaux Braised Short Ribs that was accompanied by parsnip puree, roasted carrots and bordelaise. He also ordered a side of Truffle Pommes Frites that was topped with freshly shaved parmigiana reggiano.
I had the Apple & Sage Texas Hen with the smashed yukon gold potatoes, washington apple compote and poultry jus. I really enjoyed how juicy the hen was but would’ve appreciated a bit more flavor. The mashed potatoes were spot on and the apple compote added a wonderful element of surprise for my taste buds.
My friends had the Pan Seared Alaskan Salmon with caviar velouté, herb crust and shaved garlic brussels. My friend was generous enough to allow me to taste it and this was by far the most wanted meal that made me say “We have to come back again.” The flavors were exceptional! It’s MUST HAVE!
The last dish was the Jot’s Burger with brazos valley gouda, pecan smoked bacon, garlic aioli, onion confit, brioche bun and pommes frites. He said it was the best burger he’s ever had.
For dessert we shared the 1920s Chocolate Torte that consisted of classic milk chocolate torte, white chocolate mousse, shaved dark chocolate and a milk chocolate ganache. It was extremely decadent, if you love chocolate this one is for you!
