This is usually one of our go-to staple restaurants, but like everywhere, quality is slipping. We both ordered Chimichangas, one beef and one chicken. As usual, I order extra beans as I can’t stand the rice. That’s just me. After having rice for four meals a day in the Navy, I stay away from it most of the time. That part was fine. But, both of our Chimis were very much over cooked and quite dark. While the flavor was not “burned,” the appeal was certainly gone, and the flavor did suffer some. As for service, it was pretty slow. Our server seemed more interested in making time with a waitress than he was in getting our order, or bring our food. And the chips and salsa did not arrive until our wayward server had already taken our order. Also of note: The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk. This used to be quite a meal, now it’s pretty ordinary and my companion actually finished hers, which she couldn’t ever do in the many previous times we’ve been here and got the exact same dishes. One interesting note: We ordered off the same part of the menu, and the same dish, with different fillings, yet the plates are different. I got a slice of tomato, which I won’t eat, and my companion got the Pico De Gallo, which I would have certainly enjoyed. Same menu, same item, why the difference in presentation? The biggest question, and highest compliment: Would we go back? In this case, maybe. Though we have now stayed away for a while because of this. This could have been a rough night for the cook, though it was certainly not busy as we go places on off days and eat pretty early. Or, it could have been something else. But, whatever it was has made us vote with our money and stay away more than we’ve gone here now.

My wife and I love coming to Jose’s inside the casino whenever we’re craving something delicious and homemade. The food is always amazing and the staff is friendly and attentive. This time we tried a few new dishes and really enjoyed them. We’ll definitely be back!

I had the worst experience at Jose’s ho chunk, my wife and I wanted to eat Mexican food after gambling, our food was ok but our service was horrible. Our server was always on her phone she doesn’t even washes her dirty hands to start taking orders or giving food to the customers. Second, we had a hard time understanding her because she had a bad English, I understand she is not from here but why are you serving if u can’t take orders? My wife ordered a fajita and she didn’t give her what she asked for , when we complain about the order she was mean saying “that’s what you order” we don’t want to come back because of her. Guys, you NEVER let Andreea serve you, she’s the worst and meanest server that we ever had.

We sat at the bar and the waiter was very attentive. The Margarita flights were nice to try different flavors of drinks. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The detail was great and even decorated for Halloween. We really enjoyed ourselves and would go back!
