We happened upon this place during a detour from some freeway traffic. What a treat!
It was Sunday around 11. The place was packed with locals, but we were seated right away. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s surprisingly large inside. It’s decorated in a very festive style and is very clean.
We especially enjoyed the mariachi. The food came quickly, the portions were good, not American-style over the top big, which I appreciated, and was very tasty. I don’t usually finish a whole meal, but I almost did here because it was so good!
The waitstaff and everyone were very nice and friendly. They also had people going around selling various things like fresh tortillas, pan, and empanadas. There are ladies in the back making their tortillas, which were fluffy and delicious!
If I’m ever in that neck of the woods again, I’d definitely go back.

I’ve actually never tried the food here. I get gas at the stop n save. It’s never open when I’m here either. The store clerks say it’s really good food though. I’ll give tem 3 stars until I get to try it.

The food was good however they charged you extra for everything you asked for without telling you also had ordered 2michelads and one regular beer and was overcharged as a 3rd michelada when was only two! Ask for menudo charged extra $2 for bit of hominy they added ! If they are going to charged extra they should tell the customer first!! Check your tag before you pay or make sure they tell you if there are any extra fees involved!!

Went there today – Birria tatemeada $28 and beef birria $20 – they were the “large” portion – only comes with cilantro and onion and 2 tortillas – i will definitely not be returning. They food is ok, not worth the price for sure. The drinks were almost $5.50 a soda, i know things are getting expensive but not this much. I dont recommend at all, so many good options in modesto to chose from when it comes to mexican food.

Carnitas is so tough I couldn’t cut it with a steak knife. And they’re not too generous with the portions. I’m sure you can find better somewhere else.
