I moved here from Ohio 9/2024. I’ve tried all the Mexican places here in town and have not been impressed. Ohio just has a different taste. Decided to give this place a try due to google reviews, but was not going to get my hopes up.
Let me tell you this restaurant is AMAZING. The guacamole is chunky and has great flavor. Salsa is smooth and has great taste. I got the chicken and steak quesadilla platter, and the fried ice cream. Delicious! Got my son a steak burrito and carnita tacos to go, so I’ll have to edit later with his thoughts. The menu has so many selections, the prices are great, the portions are great. I almost don’t want to tell y’all about it to keep it a secret.
I got there on a Sunday a little before noon. I was the 2nd car in the parking lot. When I left the parking lot was packed, people parking in the grass. People KNOW this is the place to go. I’ll for sure return!!
I’ve tried a chicken burrito, chicken fajitas, birria tacos, the “Tazewell” steak, and a couple of other things, and I have enjoyed every dish I’ve tried. Everyone I’ve gone there with thought the food was excellent.
The service has always been top notch, as well. Even on a busy evening, we were seated promptly and had our drinks, chips, and salsa on the table very quickly. Our orders were taken as soon as we were ready to order, and the food came out quickly, too. I tend to drink a lot of water when I eat, and my water glass was refilled regularly. The staff has always been friendly, attentive, and accommodating.
If you’re visiting on a busy night, you might have to park around the side of the building, but I’ve never had trouble finding a parking spot.
The atmosphere inside is typical of many Mexican restaurants, and is what I would describe as “festive.” There are colored flags hanging from the ceiling, like you’ll find in many similar establishments. When crowded, it can be a little noisy, but not so much that you can’t carry on a normal conversation (at least that’s been my experience).
All in all, I highly recommend Jose’s Casa Mexican Restaurant for great food and great service at very reasonable prices. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the region.
