A tad pricey. Clean and inviting. Food decent. Guacamole is made in front of you and is amazing! The variety of margrittas is awesome!

Really enjoy the elevated nature of the menu. Definitely on an entirely different level from the typical Mexican restaurant.

Came for the second time when I was invited to a work lunch. Didn’t expect the tableside guac when my table order so that was a fun surprise. Never experienced that before. The horchata I ordered was really good! I ordered the Friday Mexican fish fry. The fish was perfectly crispy and came with many pieces! The potato pancake was way overcooked and I couldn’t enjoy it. Came with a side of coleslaw and applesauce. Coleslaw had a bit of a kick, which was pretty good. Apple sauce was fine. Came once before for happy hour and drinks which were great as well happy hour food specials were pretty cheap. There were many different types of tacos on the menu that looked very interesting. Want to come try some more!

Updated Review – 1/6/23: We went to a high school basketball… It was late… And we were both starving. The good news was Jose’s was open until 10:00 PM on Friday. We got there around 9:30 PM. They sat us and served use and did not seem to care that we were so late. Everything was delicious! I got the Tostadas and they were HUGE and delicious. I think they are my my new favorite. My wife had the tamales and she said they were also delicious. The only bad thing about being late… No dessert. It was no problem… We will get some Fried Ice Cream next time. The bottom line is… We highly recommend Jose’s Blue Sombrero!

Updated Review – 8/5/22: We went to Jose’s Blue Sombrero again tonight. Immediate seating. Super friendly and helpful hostess and waitress. The food was incredible! We started with chips and salsa…. Guacamole…. Then as my entree I had the Friday Mexican Fish Fry. My wife had the Chicken Enchiladas. Then to top it off, we had Fried Ice Cream. Once again, I would highly recommend Jose’s Blue Sombrero!

We had a really disappointing experience last night. We will not be going back to Jose’s in the future. Party of 5. Started at a different family restaurant – 1 hour wait. Called Jose’s and they said 10 min wait so we drove there instead. We were seated in about 15 min, server took drink and food order in a timely manner but food took another 50 min to arrive. I asked for updates 2x and was told the kitchen was very busy and it wouldn’t be long. Manager came and apologized and said it would be less than 5 more min. When food came, it was not good. Beans were cold and crusted over, rice was cold, my steak in the fajitas was burnt and inedible. The did bring another piece of flank steak and it was cooked properly but WAY over seasoned. I asked manager to come and address the issues, he provided free refill on my horchata, gave us some coupons for margaritas and $5 off 2 meals. He then agreed to comp one of our meals. To make things worse, the man at the table next to us (he appeared to have had a few drinks) basically told us to quit complaining or leave. It got a little heated verbally and nearly came to physical. Manager unwilling to address that issue. We got up to leave and I had no intention of paying for anything and manager called corporate for advice – they said call police if they leave. Really?? He ended up comping us one other meal and gave us a couple free desserts. Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere. Another table next to us were very sympathetic to the whole situation, especially the aggressive jerk at the other table. Manager simply blamed it all on new hires and lack of full staffing. Very disappointing and what used to be a go to restaurant, will no longer be on our radar for future meals.

Won’t be back. Food has been going downhill, last night was the worst meal I’ve ever had in my life at any restaurant. Wife and I had skirt steak shrimp burritos. Tasted like someone dumped a couple tablespoons of salt in it. Never had anything this salty. Wife ate less than one quarter of her meal, I managed to eat half of mine. Served with some very dry potatoes instead of beans and rice. Been there 3 times in the last month and it just keeps getting worse. Will never be back, shame used to be a nice little restaurant.

Amazing restaurant that make guacamole in ftont of you, serves large portions of delicious authentic mexican meals and large selection of cocktails. The entrance has a small flight of stairs, no ramp for handicapped individuals with wheelchair. Parking is in the rear.

Food is OK. Just a warning fajitas only come with 4 tortillas. Anyone who regularly orders corn tortillas knows you need 2 for each “taco” because they fall apart, meaning for $30ish you are only getting 2 tacos. Then you need to request more from the server and you get a sort of eyeroll over asking for more.

My group of friends (5 of us) have been coming to Jose’s for happy hour for friend’s birthdays, etc for several years. Every couple of months. Today was AWFUL. We generally order the same thing every time. I always get the beef nachos (happy hour) which are always made with delicious shredded beef. Today, i got a plate of ground beef nachos…hmmm, no choice noted on menu, always just stated as “BEEF”, and these were on wimpy white corn tortilla chips (vs the chips they serve from the bar). The nachos had s liquidy pale “cheese” sauce and the entire thing was MUSHY, Tastless, and unappealing. One couple ALWAYS get the quesadillas, they usually get three on the happy hour plate, today it was TWO, my other friend gets the potato skins, just POTATO skins, with cheese/toppings, and always FOUR, today just THREE. We were all saying, “this isn’t right”. The potato skin person (who ordered them) said they were super bland, not the same, not good.
We noticed that, the USUALLY bustling bar area was empty aside from our group of five and a few people at the bar. Something has changed. I had them remove the Nachos from my bill, I only ate a few bites, NOT GOOD. We discussed our concerns with a kitchen manager. He told me several times, “ground beef is watery” REALLY? Not in my world…since when is ground beef WATERY? And he asked if I asked for SHREDDED BEEF. I told him that I never had to ask before…maybe the wait person asked me??I don’t recall…either way, I didn’t know I had a choice as no one told me I had a choice, thought I was getting what I always get.
We will not be back, as I said, we were fairly regular for the past 3 years, NO MORE. Service was poor, had to ask for the bill twice, while the waitress and bartender chatted (we had asked the waitress twice) and they WERE NOT BUSY at the time…just chatting(we had places to be) and finally the bartender came out and said (kind of in an accusitory way) “Well, I have to know who had what so I can charge you…”(NO KIDDING? new concept?). all in all poor service and poor food.
No more Jose’s…no way JOSE!
