Absolutely delicious. They can make fresh guac right in front of you (tips expected).
Food and drinks came quickly. Not that crowded on a Saturday evening. House margarita was amazing and reasonably priced at $9. Id come here again for sure.

Cute Tex Mex style restaurant. We came on a Monday night by chance when they had the taco special, so our dinner was decently affordable. We had the Idaho Collides with Juarez – think potato skins with protein. We had it with hamburger, but I think I would go with the pulled beef or pork instead. And then we also had the Gringo Stay in your Lane tacos with pulled beef. Those were a bit tastier.
Chips came to every table, and ours came warm, which was nice. We did see a lot of the fresh guacamole made table side and that may be worth ordering.
When weather permits, there is a cute patio space to dine at outdoors. Service was good. When in the mood for TexMex this is a decent option.

My son ordered a medium rare burger and got a very thin dry burger. He even said it was the driest burger he’s ever had and asked for more sauce to put on it. We were charged $2.50 for a dollop of sauce and took so long his burger was cold by the time the sauce arrived. However, My tacos were good and waitress was friendly. The restaurant was cold and I kept my coat on the entire time. Disappointed as I usually love this establishment.

Today I visited Jose’s Blue Sombrero in Fox Point for happy hour wanted some drinks and great food. Arriving there the exterior of the building was very nice, very inviting. The interior also was quite nice for its class of restaurant as well. It gave a little log cabin vibe. However, food turned out to be mediocre at best. I ordered the chicken nachos and a couple ground beef tacos. The chicken for the nachos was extremely bland. It tasted like literally nothing. Also the tacos flower tortillas not even warm just completely raw and the ground beef was also extremely boring. The drinks were fine. Nothing out the ordinary or many establishments house margaritas. The worst part is we were expecting happy hour prices. We came in and was given the option to sit at a booth when we clearly stated to the host with excitement that we were here for happy hour. When we got the bill it’s more than 50% more than what we were expecting to spend and on the receipt was the first time we seen that it was (BAR ONLY) for happy hour prices, the manager mentioned that it was posted outside however when we left we noticed it was in super small print. The manager also claimed she understood our concerns and was going give us the happy pricing yet all she did was give one drink for free saving us a mere $7. I feel like happy hour is a façade and a way to get people in the door with misleading tacks. This place is completely smoke and mirrors and I won’t be returning.

This was my first time at Jose’ Blue Sombrero. We went to celebrate my friend’s birthday. First – the chips and salsa are amazing. I mean – really AMAZING! Try the extra hot salsa . . . I’m talking mouth on fire! Super good tho’! I had a soft taco and my friend got a burger. Both were good. We ordered a $18 margarita. OMG-HUGE!!!!! We were not expecting it, but drunk the entire thing. It was a nice time. They also gave my friend a delicious dessert. The only thing is our waitress wasn’t very attentive, but oh well – nothing is perfect. Would definitely return especially for the chips and salsa.

I had the jerk chicken tacos they were good, but he could’ve had more jerk seasoning on it chicken. The guacamole was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The drinks were so yummy.

A large menu, excellent service, appropriate decor, large portions, lower than expected prices, and good food make for the best Mexican restaurant in the area.
I had the chimichanga and my wife the tacos. We enjoyed the experience and will return the next time we crave Mexican.
Ample parking and clean and adequately sized bathrooms.

Jose’s Blue Sombrero is a nice spot in Fox point for some Mexican food. It is not my favorite of all time, but the salsa and atmosphere are good. The display of our food was also beautiful and it was decent. The staff was friendly too. Would try here again.

I don’t get to see my parents as much as I used to due to distance, and the staff at Jose’s made our lunch memorable and special for celebrating my mom’s birthday. Our waitress was so nice and happened to find out about her birthday when we were finishing up our fantastic 1/2 gallon mango margarita (highly recommended!). She quickly went in back and reappeared with 2 more staff members with maracas, complete with a dessert (which my mom said was delicious!) and sombrero! They sang Happy Birthday to her and she got to blow out her birthday candle. It really did put a smile on all of our faces!
We all really enjoyed our meals–I had the portabella and steak quesadilla. The steak was flavorful, and they used fresh mushrooms! The beans were the best refried beans I’ve ever had, which says a lot because I normally don’t give them much thought.
I wasn’t sure what to expect based on some of the negative reviews, but they far exceeded my expectations! With all of the awful things going on in the world and influx of rude people, I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the kindness shown by Jose’s staff and our waitress for going above and beyond.
