Large portions of authentic Mexican food at super reasonable prices!
Our group of 9 stopped here for lunch in April 2025. We were seated quickly and chips and salsa were brought out immediately.
There are some GREAT values here with $6.99 lunch specials. We all had plenty to eat and really enjoyed our experience there. We will definitely stop in here again next time we’re in Bardstown!

We visited this place based on the reviews. I like the park like setting while dining al fresco. Parking was easy and free. Take note, margaritas are only $1.99 during certain times and I have posted a picture regarding that. I got in there about five minutes before the price increase, so I made a Beeline to the bar and ordered them right away. It was a good thing because service was extremely slow that night. It was a fun friendly place though, and I would definitely go back.

Don’t be fooled by the appearance of the restaurant! It looks like a mobile home from the road so you may not realize it’s a business, but the inside is a very clean restaurant. We stopped for lunch while visiting distilleries in the area. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was hot and delicious and the portions were huge for a reasonable price. My husband and I are already talking about going back when we do our next bourbon trail experience.

Let me start by saying that I am not the type to leave reviews, but this place definitely deserves a 5 star rating. The food here is amazing and the service is great, the prices are excellent. In my opinion, this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I was in the area for 5 nights and I ate here 3/5 nights. Will definitely go back when I come back to Bardstown.

On my recent visit to Bardstown, I found many restaurants overpriced with small portions but Jose y Los Tres Amigos made me believe in restaurants again. The atmosphere is very casual and the place was full of locals and families. I felt comfortable there. Food was standard American Mexican restaurant style basic, well executed, and served quickly. I walked out very full and satisfied for $16 plus tip and I wish I lived closer so I could go again.

1st time here I am ashamed to say. Very clean, great service and we wonderful food.
Best chili verde yet. The tortillas in the enchiladas were worth coming for, we will be back.
Returned to try something new. Had the special dinner. Chili rellano was great. The tamale was dense enough to be a meal. I could only eat half. The rest will be dinner.

This was a fantastic lunch spot while doing the bourbon trail. Party of 5 at 1245 on a Friday there was no wait. The food came out within 10 minutes, and was very hot! Everything had great flavor.
We had the fajitas, chili relleno, enchiladas, and a ribeye steak cooked perfectly medium rare and seasoned to perfection.
Really enjoyed the stop, would recommend anyone else who doesn’t have lunch reservations nearby… Come here! You’ll have a much more enjoyable experience than McDonald’s up the street and almost as fast service.
Queso Blanco was awesome, pro tip mix it with your salsa. They had several hot sauces on the table that were great and varying levels of heat.

We went here for my sister’s birthday. It’s a nice lil restaurant with really good food. The salsa is a lil bland but everything else was phenomenal. Great service.

We had a great time! Fast and friendly service combined with incredible food makes Jose’s a place you have to try out. I strongly recommend a molcajete and a margarita.
