We have been going to various Jose Pepper’s locations for years, and now that we don’t live in the area anymore, we like to eat here whenever we come back to town. My husband and I came here for dinner with some friends and we didn’t have the best experience. the food was good but the service was horrible! After our waitress took our order, we never saw her again and had to beg the host for water refills.

Still one of the best Tex Mex places in Kansas City. Chips, salsa, and espinaca dip is always on point, and their steak and goat cheese towers are to die for. Super delicious margaritas, and our entrees were huge and filling. Waiter was extremely polite and accommodating. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Jose Peppers is a popular spot to enjoy a meal in Kansas City if you are craving stuffed burritos, fresh salsa and light chips, perfectly seasoned rice and beans, creamy enchiladas and more. One of my favorite entrees, along with several others, is the Pollo Magnifico burrito that is stuffed with seasoned chicken and cheese along with a side of rice and beans. I also enjoy going on Taco Tuesday for taco deals, specifically the $8 platter with 1 large taco and a side of rice and beans. Jose Peppers’ salsa tastes so incredibly delicious that they have their salsa in containers within grocery stores. I’d also recommend ordering the Espinaca Con Queso appetizer for your table. Jose Peppers has a large bar menu with fun cocktails along with a happy hour. Make sure to try the cornmeal ball on your plate…it is wonderful!

My first time visiting from Florida, and I can said I enjoyed very much this Mexican gem restaurant . From my entrance I was greeted with a warm smile and feel like at home. My Waiter Miguel was very nice and took care of my order quickly. The atmosphere was very enjoyable, and a very clean place with spotless ladies room. Finally, the food is so delicious and fresh, complements to the chef. I recommend this place and although I can only rate 5 starts this place deserves more. I ordered the Baja Burrito lunch special, and it was good, although the refried beans had a little bit too much spice for me. One of the others at my table ordered a cheese-free vegan-type dish, but the food that arrived did have cheese, which was a problem. So my experience was that the menu food was good but… be cautious when ordering something that is not standard. Service was good, and the restaurant was clean and well kept.

I kept hearing people talk about this place so I went. I was a little disappointed. Got the chicken fajitas and there was hardly any chicken, 3 pieces of peppers but like 4 whole onions. Notice how they put the toppings on the skillet so you only get the skillet half full. Other restaurants fill the whole skillet. For the price, I just assumed it would be larger and better quality.

I love Jose Peppers. Every time I come here, the staff is friendly, the food hot and delicious and the chips and salsa overflowing. I love that they do a Tasty Tuesday every month ($4.35 for Pollo Loco). Today I came in a Throwback Thursday when their Monterrey Chicken Burrito is only $5.99 (the old price when it first appeared on the menu all those years ago).
My waiter today was Marlon. He did an exemplary job. He was kind, patient with me (I move slow) and kept checking in to make sure I was doing alright. He even gave me some free chips and salsa to take home with me!
I ask every time I go to a Jose Peppers if their delicious salsa will ever be sold in stores. Today Marlon told me that it’s coming soon! ♂️ ✨
