Went on a Thursday night. Has a very cozy mom and pop shop feel. The food was made fresh, but also was delivered in a timely manner. I got the Italian beef that was smothered in its sauce (how I personally love them), while my dad got the wings. The wings were still steaming as he was eating them! The staff was very friendly, and I think the owner came out to check on us a couple of times. Very sweet. You must give this place a try if you’re indecisive!

Wow! I truly enjoyed myself and the food was great! No salt and pepper needed. I had the oxtails and rice with carrots, cabbage, Mac & cheese and cornbread. The environment was comfortable and enjoyed talking with customers enjoying their meals. I will be back. What a great home cooked meal. Thank you Chef Crissy!

This is how an italian beef should be made. Loaded with beef and hot peppers. Bring an appetite ot prepare for take home. And all for under 14 bucks, value and flavorful, you can’t go wrong. The ambiance is chill with soft tunes 8n the background ong with a playful staff, majes for a very enjoyable meal.

She introduced us to “Tre Way”—her famous sweet potatoes mixed right alongside her savory mac and cheese—and I swear it unlocked a flavor combo I never knew I needed. Sweet, savory, rich, comforting… it’s my new favorite thing.
The crispy wings were perfect, the oxtails were to die for, and Chelsie’s catfish was flawless. I went with the hot beef — wet and spicy, and it was unreal. So good that I literally swung back later just to see Chrissy, grab a hug, and place a pickup order: hot beef (wet, spicy), double sweet potatoes, and double mac & cheese.
Holy. Moly.
Still incredible.
If you’re anywhere nearby and haven’t eaten at Joppa Experience, you are missing out. This is comfort food done with love, confidence, and serious skill. Highly recommend—again and again.

Great experience feels like your walking into your family’s house. Enjoy the Italian Beef sandwich with mild peppers. Superb flavor an definitely plenty of beef. Wish there was au juice left in a cup on the side to dip your frys in or smother your sandwich in but definitely a great sandwich. Collard greens had plenty of flavor an the corn bread melted in my mouth was the best I’ve had would come back for more for sure.

Just had an amazing lunch from Joppa Experience and we’re already planning our next visit! I got the catfish sandwich and let me tell you—the breading was perfectly seasoned and crispy, and the sauce? So good. My team member ordered the lemon pepper wings and said they were “fire”—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was equally impressive. It felt like walking into a space where everyone knows each other—warm, welcoming, and full of love. Joppa Experience is truly a gem. We’ll 100% be back!

I’m from Chicago and had a craving for an authentic Italian beef, unfortunately they don’t give dip ON THE SIDE. So either you get it drowned or dry. Its my preference to dip each bite . I wasn’t offered the option to pay additional or anything. When I inquired why I was just given a seemingly fake smile and a “we don’t do that”. When I inquired again as to why it was the exact same smile and response. From the owner. This was NOT the first time I have received subpar customer service from THE OWNER, but I chose to continue patronizing because the food was good! I supported from the mall, pop ups before the restaurant opened, and the restaurant. I even shared the posted GO fund me to help save it from shutdown. Everybody has the right to operate however they choose, it was just very off putting not to get a direct answer. I love supporting small businesses ,but it’s little things like this, that make it difficult. I have been here before and the food ranged from good to very good. However, this last interaction left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended)and an empty stomach.

Great-friendly, customer service. Ordered an Italian Beef, dipped with nacho cheese. 6 piece wings, no sauce, with fries. The Italian beef was large and flavorful. Good mild sauce! Wings were big & juicy.

The best Italian Beef I’ve had outside of Chicago! Bread was perfect, meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned. We got ours to go so the fries were just a bit soggy when we got the food home. I’d get them in a separate container or separate them out with wax paper so they don’t get too juicy. I got the caramel cake and it was perfect. The yellow cake has a buttery flavor and was very moist. Frosting was perfect. I want to go back and try other menu items. Loved this place.
