The atmosphere is very pleasant and upscale. I went here on a Friday afternoon and there were barely any other customers. You could definitely see how big the restaurant is. I got the $20 lunch special with a chicken kabob and mast-o musir. Chicken was cooked well, with slight smokiness and without being too dry. I also liked the seasoning they used and how it wasn’t too overpowering. I tend to be a big eater but the portion size of the dish was very generous. I could barely finish it all in one sitting!

We celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday at Joon, and it was absolutely breathtaking from start to finish.

First, complimentary valet parking such a classy and convenient touch. It immediately sets the tone for a special evening.

Now the food… where do I even begin?

The kabob platter was unforgettable. Perfectly grilled, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The lamb chops were hands down some of the best we’ve ever had tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The falafel was crisp outside, soft inside, and full of authentic flavor.

And I can’t believe I almost forgot the lamb and pistachio meatballs those were incredible. Rich, flavorful, perfectly balanced with texture and spice. Truly one of the standout dishes of the night.

The tahdig (crispy rice) was golden, crunchy, and absolutely addictive. That perfect crust is something you remember long after the meal ends.

The ambiance deserves special mention. From the restroom to the dining room, everything smelled amazing and felt thoughtfully curated. The aesthetic gives you that elegant Arabian Nights vibe warm lighting, refined décor, upscale but welcoming.

The dessert Persian cake for my mom’s birthday was the perfect ending. Light, delicious, and beautifully presented. It made her 60th truly memorable.

This wasn’t just dinner. It was an experience. The kind of meal that stays with you for a long, long time.

No surprise they’ve been recognized during DC Restaurant Week this place absolutely deserves it.

Life-changing food, impeccable atmosphere, and a birthday celebration we will never forget. 5 stars without hesitation.

Joon is a beautiful Persian restaurant, and from the moment we walked in, we truly felt welcomed and taken care of. The space is elegant yet inviting, with a large bar area and plenty of seating. The servers are extremely friendly and attentive, making it very clear that your comfort and experience matter.

We ordered a mixed platter featuring a variety of Persian kebabs — including beef, chicken, koobideh, and barg — and everything was well prepared and flavorful. One of the highlights was the rice selection. They offer several options, which is such a nice touch: classic saffron rice, herb rice, fava bean rice, and another variety that I can’t quite recall. Each one was delicious and complemented the kebabs perfectly.

The pistachio soup was outstanding and easily a 9/10. Made with a chicken-broth base, it was topped with pistachios, berries, and crispy fried onions — rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced. We also tried the hummus with lamb, which I’d rate 7/10. The hummus itself was great, but the lamb had a slight smell that took away from the dish.

To finish, we ordered their Persian saffron black tea, which was excellent and the perfect way to wind down after such a satisfying meal.

Overall, June delivers great food, warm hospitality, and a refined yet comfortable dining experience. It was a wonderful visit, and I’d definitely be happy to return.

Food and service were great! I had the Classic Feast and all dishes were very tasty! My favorite was the Joon French Toast at the end which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Much different than the typical tough Texas toast you typically get. I enjoyed the Dango too, as it was warmed chickpeas, so it stuck out from the other mixes. The braised lamb should was also very good, sometimes when eating lamb I can taste the gaminess, but not with this dish. The expresso martini came with Joon spelled out in Farsi too which was cool! I’d recommend this to anyone looking for Persian cuisine or trying something new!

Mixed review. 3.5 out of 5. Joon was highly recommended by friends and we are fans of middle eastern food – so we were excited to try it. However, overall a disappointing experience. Joon has great potential but execution is making it a mixed outcome. Food was creative and unique flavors – but execution was poor in 4 out of 5 dishes. Served lukewarm and like it had been sitting for a long time. The hummus and lamb shoulder was excellent and well prepared. Service was similar – friendly and trying but just not professional and not at the level of the restaurant price. Atmosphere also a bit odd – not cozy or upscale feeling for Saturday night. A bit corporate and mid level vibe – not what we were expecting. Felt like everything was rushed, mixed quality and low levels of training for staff. Overall, lots of potential and creative menu – but execution was poor. May try again in future… perhaps just an off night, but disappointing experience.

This was our first visit to this Persian restaurant, and we came with family—such a wonderful experience. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal together. The food was excellent, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We also really appreciated the complimentary valet, which made the visit even more convenient. We tried lamb pistachio balls, Harissa chicken, Lamb shoulder with veggies along with chelow rice. All dishes were amazing and special thanks to our waiter Paul who took good care of us.

Nice dinner, close to the mall, was able to walk-in and wait 20 minutes for a table on a Saturday night. Restaurant decor is very nice, enjoyed playing backgammon while waiting, however restaurant is on the louder side. Service was friendly and quick. The food was good but not traditional Persian food. The Ghomeh Sabzi meat was fattier than usual and only one kubideh kabob was served versus usual two for a dish and the Persian ice cream was okay. Overall was a nice dinner.

Nice location. Had complimentary valet parking. Greeted by host and took to a room in the back. Was nice and warm and very large restaurant. The Mezcal
Cocktail has nice foam and flavor and very good. The apps Eggplant was very tasty with a spicy kick, falafel were super green with nice vegetables, the cauliflower and squash was little tart, the labne was little tart for my taste, the hummus was very cream with mushrooms and excellent. The crispy cherry and dill rice had a very deep flavor. The cappuccino was superb. The service in a Saturday at 7:45 was very slow

Enjoyed a very nice dinner overall with a couple of friends last night. The food was very good, with just a couple of false notes. Service was excellent; knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Decor is exquisite, especially at and around the gorgeous teal-tiled bar.

We started with the hummus with braised lamb and it was quite good. The accompanying bread, while not on par with a place like Maydan, was good.

We then went on to the grilled eggplant dish. It was not very good; quite bland and soggy. We only had a little bit of it. This was the lowpoint of the meal for me.

For our main, we enjoyed the kabab platter. It was excellent, the lamb especially. Loved the chicken and prawns too. It was a nice representation of the quality of the food. The crispy rice served with it was epic, I could have eaten just a plate of that with a spoon.

Cocktails were ok, one was a bit underwhelming, one was excellent and one was fine.

Definitely worth a try, your mileage will vary based on what you order.

Beautiful beautiful spot! Very nice atmosphere. Super schmancy but come on, you are in this area so you already know what you are getting into in these parts haha. The staff is on point and very attentive and the food is great. What else is there to discuss. Food was delish, definitely felt authentic. Cocktails were great too. You are going to be paying a pretty penny but it’s worth it. Nooshé jān
