The food is pretty good but the staff are horrible. Jon was cooking the last time I went in and he was going on about the cost of cheese. He was yelling at me for asking for some grated parm. I stood there dumbfounded. When the pizza was finally ready, Jon Practically tossed it at me. When I opened the box in the car to check it, it was partially folded. This is no way to treat a customer!!! In addition, there is mold in the fountain soda machine, the tables are always sticky, the bathrooms are disgusting, and the floors are filthy. If it wasn’t for my mother who only eats kosher, I would never return after being disrespected like that. It’s one thing to not have great service from staff and it’s another to be berated by the owner himself.

Jon’s employees make better pizza than Jon himself. But I love
the guy nonetheless. He is a jewel in that space of proprietor
entrepreneur. What he needs is a falafel like Ave M & E. 17th in Brooklyn closest thing to the Eretz Yisrael version and if he could make a lentil soup with focaccia but keep the sodium down then it would be heaven.

We enjoyed the pea soup and thin crust pizza. The battered fish was too thick, but the fish inside was good. And the dish comes with a side dish too. Our table was sticky, which wasn’t pleasant.

2nd edit:
After speaking with John, the owner, it’s was confirmed that the employee who answers the phone made a mistake and miscalculated the wait time. John straightened everything out and I am sure will work on his customer experience.
Still waited over 45 minutes in line.

Edit:
Was here at the exit of Passover. The place is packed and even though I ordered an hour and a half ago, was told it will be ready in 45 min to an hour, when I get there I need to wait for another almost an hour just to get my order. They take advantage of being the only game in town and they can get away with it. they are giving at 1st come 1st serve basis even though everyone ordered. Great pizza is not enough. You need some customer service too. see pics below.

Dear John: if you don’t make some serious changes you your customer service there will be other players that will take your marketshare. It’s just how this works.

My city has no kosher restaurants. So, I like to frequent several of them while here. I went to Jon’s Place and got a few items. The fish & chips and a slice of pizza. The minestrone soup was good as was the pizza. However, the fish & chips were another story. After 1 bite, I can say it was probably the worst I have ever had. I complained and asked what kind of fish. They said it was cod. I explained that I was from Canada & it absolutely wasn’t cod. So, they said it was tilapia. I think it was Pollack and probably freezer burned and I said I would not eat such a horrible meal. They gave me a look, so! I told them I would like to get something else, which they were very put off by. Reluctantly, they asked what I wanted. I told them, Eggplant Parmesan. They rang it up and said I needed to pay the difference. I pointed to their menu board & showed it was the same price. The cashier day manager said their computer showed it at $4 more and that’s what I needed to pay. I told them to just forget it and gave them their horrible paid-for meal back. What atrocious service.
