Jonny B’s Sports Bar has been a staple in Mankato since 2006. We cook our beef 11 hours at a low temperature for flavor and that melt in your mouth experience. Please do not expect a hot beef sandwich, we serve our sandwiches at our 158 degree hold temperature. If you are unhappy in any way, please let us know, we will fix it. I will have to preface this review by saying that I’m definitely going to give Johnny B’s a second shot. My first experience there was subpar, but I feel like it could be much better. I tried their fries, cowboy kegs, buffalo chicken tater tot kegs, and the philly cheese steak sandwich. The fries were nothing to write home about at all, they tasted under salted and almost store bought. The cowboy kegs were definitely a cool premise, like hush puppies but with cream cheese. They didn’t taste as good as I hoped but I still enjoyed them. The buffalo chicken tater tot kegs had me excited, but the potato and chicken flavors didn’t mix well and it also didn’t taste as good as I expected. They did give me a fat cup of bleu cheese though which I was super happy about. The philly cheese steak sandwich was definitely the star of the show, delicious, but I do have to remark that I wish it had more cheese.
Overall, the food was 6/10, barely above average, but the place was clean, the waitress was nice, and the overall experience was more 8/10. I want to return because I want to try the bacon ranch tater kegs and the more famous menu items. I’m sure that while the food I ordered was subpar, other options must be way better. I’ll update my review next time I visit

Nice place to meet up for pre game festivities. Service was great even though there were a lot of people. The hotdog was delicious.

The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was mediocre. I had the smoked shredded chicken sandwich. Tasted like canned chicken. The seasoning was not very good and the chicken was mushy and wasn’t hot at all. My husband tried it. He took one bite and didn’t eat the rest of what I gave him. He ordered the roast beef sandwich. He said that was OK, but again, not hot. The fries and onion rings were good.
Not a lot of people in there when we were there. The table near us had a couple of guys that were very loud. They didn’t need to be because there were maybe 10 people in there at the time.

Great place to eat indoors and out! Fries came back alittle more done than we prefer, and they gladly remade us a batch! Great customer service and friendly staff!! Food was delicious! Bar service was fantastic!

Wanted roast beef sandwich. They were out. So bartender said try the chicken corn on blue. So I did it was good. I had a chili dog to go. That was very good heated up in micro. Would do the chili dog all day.

Stopped in about an hour before close to have a drink and mourn the passing of a rock legend. The bartender was super nice and the music was good, but it was so very hot in there. I’m sure I’ll be back, but I hope they get the AC fixed

Workers (cook, bartender and server) were more interested in viewing their phones rather than checking on the few customers that were there. Very apparent that ownership was not around,
Had to wait to get server’s attention after receiving the meals and discovered the
Bowl of chili was cold and had to request it to be microwaved
Two French dip sandwiches were also cool
We had returned as previous two times we had enjoyed wonderful meals and service and brought a guest with us that questioned why we had not gone elsewhere after the experience.

I went here on my 21st Birthday, and the bartender was rude. Before I was even in the building, she said they were closing in 20 minutes. Online it said they would be open for 3 more hours. I told her it was my Birthday, and asked if I could at least take a shot before they closed. She said “well I need to see everyone’s IDs for you to even be in here” in a very sassy tone. At this point I said I did not want the shot – and left, because she does not deserve the tip I was going to give her, and I do not want to give Johnny B’s my business. ruined my Birthday. The food we got served terrible! boneless chicken wings (AKA) chicken nuggets were over done in old grease fries were cold and hard as a rock couldn’t even eat them! They offered to make new fries but didn’t want more old grease and almost done eating anyway! They did take $1 off our bill, big deal! The owner better find better cooks if he wants to get people in there to eat and not just drink! Those kids that work there couldn’t stay off their phones the whole time we were there. Good luck
