Casual outfit with indoor & outdoor tables known for its fried perch & walleye platters.

My parents and I ate at this nice little fish joint and loved it! We each got a different kind of seafood, the perch, walleye, and shrimp, and shared. It was hot and fresh, and probably the best restaurant seafood we’ve ever had! The waffle fries were superb, the onion rings tasted fresh, and the lake view was the cherry on top!

I was expecting table service, but this turned out better. Gave you a number, we sat, and within 5 minutes food delivered. Perch and chips for me, and perch sandwich for spouse, both with onion rings, which were house made and worth the $1 extra. Breading on perch was super thin and crispy and close to that on the rings. I would come back if I drove near again.

Okay. Lets take this apart. First the lobster rolls aren’t real lobster. They are not sweet. Instead, they are full of celery and very bland, possibly Imitation meat.. I forced one down, the second I couldn’t even eat. Second, the perch is lake perch, not lake Erie perch. My platter looked like all fish Ohio records, not lake Erie perch. If you are in Cleveland area, go to Jake’s on the lake, within 30 seconds you will see exactly what im talking about. Wasn’t a big fan of the tarter sauce. The onion rings were salty. I love onion rings, and was very dissatisfied with them. The fries were okay. Was it worth seventy dollars no. Was the place busy, it was. Was the staff quick and curtiotious, they were. Would I eat there again? Hell no

We visited on a Saturday evening for dinner in mid-April 2025. We ordered take out.
The atmosphere was great and the staff was great. It was packed but they moved fast. It was fun watching them bread the fish through the window. The best was the outdoor dining. The view out back at the water was amazing at sunset. It was a little chilly so most folks were inside. We decided to do take out but then changed our minds and ate at the car parked at the back facing out to the water. There is like a sandy beach area as well that we saw a couple kids playing at.
We ordered:
-Clam Chowder x2. These came with crackers. They tasted okay but not as flavorful as we are used to. Maybe a little under seasoned or watered down a bit?
-Shore Dinner. This came with 3 perch and 1 walleye. We got side of onion rings with it. Everyone agreed that walleye over the perch but both were very good. Unfortunately the onion rings were soggy even though we just walked with them from the restaurant to the back to eat them.
-Chicken Tenders with side of waffle fries. They did not give us any condiments and we had to go back into the restaurant to ask for ranch.
-Salmon Bowl. Wife ordered this and said it was really good and also very filling. She said the only thing missing was a bit more of the dressing or sauce. It was a little dry.
-Breaded Mushrooms. These were nice and hot and just okay. the breading was nice and crunchy but not seasoned as much as we had hoped either. Since the mushrooms they used were so large they got soggy pretty quickly. There is enough I would order this to share and not for 1 person unless you’re very hungry.
-Lobster Rolls with side of hush puppies. The lobster roll was good but definitely had better. Same goes for the hush puppies.
Overall the food was good. A little disappointed in a couple things. We were just stopping by the area and wanted to try something local and not a chain. Glad we stopped by here. The view and atmosphere was unbeatable though.

Recommend by a mid Ohio local as we were looking at things to do around Sandusky for a day trip.
Local Perch & Walleye was delicious, and the hush puppies and homemade onion rings were phenomenal!!
Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Port Clinton!

We visited Jolly Rogers Seafood House in Port Clinton, Ohio while touring around the Lakeside/Marblehead and Port Clinton area. I ordered the fried Walleye and chips and my wife had the fried Perch and chips. When our order arrived I was just amazed at the huge serving for the price we paid at the order counter. Each order had 4 – 5 pieces of fish, perfectly fried and seasoning with an excellent tartar sauce on the side. We were so hungry and the food looked so good I forgot to get a photo of my plate! Jolly Rogers is right on Lake Erie and has ample indoor and outdoor seating where you can enjoy the view and the breeze off the lake. I especially enjoyed the order at the window and pay first process. You get a number with your order, choose your drinks, then find a place to sit and the waitstaff brings the order to you. This is probably the biggest fish serving for the price we have found in the area. An excellent meal and we will definetely revisit.

While passing through, we stumbled upon this restaurant at lunchtime. It was busy, and we had to wait a bit to order. But there were enough seats, and the food came quickly. It was simply delicious. Highly recommended.

The food and service were really good. Especially the perch and Mac and cheese. But I’m now scared that I’m going to be throwing up the remainder of the night because of potential food poisoning from the ketchup. All of the tables have ketchup, malt vinegar, and hot sauce sitting at the table. I’ve seen this in other restaurants so I didn’t think anything of it. But my first bite of ketchup on my fries, it was an immediate yeasty taste and I knew something wasn’t right. My boyfriend seen my face and was like yeah I thought it tasted weird too. I completely lost my appetite, and couldn’t finish my food. If they are letting the ketchup go bad in the dining room, what else are they not paying attention to in the kitchen.
