Stopped here multiple times on a recent snowmobile trip. Enjoyed the staff and drinks enough to come back for food and lunch. Decided to come back another time for the Sunday breakfast buffet and will be doing this again as well. Excellent.

This is a classic UP bar and grill. Breakfast served until 10:45 which works for us on our summer vacation schedule. We will definitely return. Really friendly and good food! Pancakes as big as your head!

Service was impeccable. The atmosphere was comforting and homey. The portions are grand, so come hungry and leave stuffed. I had a wet burrito that came on a platter. It was the only thing I ate today, and the only thing I need to eat today. What’s keeping the 5th star? The taste wasn’t quite there, and the ventilation from the kitchen hits you as you walk in. Thus I got a healthy waft of old egg, or they were on a receiving end of a practical joke.

Great selection of drinks. Food is good too. Service was great and so were the friendly customers. I felt at home. The burger was tasty.

My daughter and I went to see Benny the Troll and on our way back through town we decided to stop and have a bite to eat.
The food was excellent and so were the people. The place was immaculate. We will definitely be back.

We camped down the road and went to the jolly inn for a few adult beverages and dinner. The bartender Glenda was amazing. She was very personable, funny, and entertaining. The food was great and my husband really enjoyed the variety of tap beers. Glenda was very helpful to my husband that’s in a wheelchair. And like us, she is a Lion’s fan. We definitely will go back in the future.

A nice place to stop for a bite to eat and a drink after a long day. Food was good, prices were decent, and the service was excellent. They make you feel very welcomed. I had a lot of fun playing the casino slot game they have even won a $25 gift card for BP which was really exciting. The men’s bathroom didn’t lock, but otherness than that one minor problem it was a very nice place and I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend stop in if you’re in the area.

Wonderful Staff – so friendly! Jackie definitely seemed like she knew all the regulars by name.
We shared the chili cheese fries (huge portion!!) Crisp fries with a good balance of cheese and flavorful homemade chili.

All of the dinner portions were large. The pastie had a nice flaky crust. The Full Moon sandwich had nice flavor but a little dry. The onion rings were tasty but a tad greasy. The French Dip was the star of the table – just what you expect from a really good French dip and nice au jus that wasn’t too salty. Coke products with just one free refill or Pepsi product by the can.

I’ll be back to try their breakfast.

Other notes: Clean bathrooms. Easy parking.

This is a great diner along the central route up from or down to the bridge. It’s not huge, so they can get pretty busy. Their food is cooked well and served in large portions (they even have a couple challenges on the menus if you’re daring). Breakfast ends at 11 am, but their lunch selection is just as good. It’s a little expensive, but their portion sizes make up most of the difference.
