I waited until I ordered 3 times via doordash and in-person to leave a review to test the consistency of the food quality and flavors. This concept WORKSSS. For those of us who want delicious West African food and don’t necessarily want to always have to go through the process of cooking it, Jollof Bowl gave me what I had a taste for. Well done! I’ve had a bowl with the chicken and the beef, thus far. I enjoy both proteins equally. My favorite topping is the sweet onions /yassi onions.. which is basically caramelized onions. I always top with sweet plantain, the spicy coleslaw, and the spicy aioli. I’m more of a fan of the jollof rice versus the jollof noodles, but I can see how the noodles would be more recognizable to the non-africans that patronize this spot. Speaking of that, one of the things that I truly enjoy seeing going there in person is how many non-africans are frequenting this food establishment! It warms my heart to see our people connecting with a culture that they may not have, otherwise, had an opportunity to sample. It’s a tasty and simple entry point into African food that is still somewhat recognizable, yeah authentic. The portions are large and appropriate for the pricing. I’m going to keep coming back. The only constructive criticism I would give is that the parking isn’t the best, you kind of just have to pray you come at a good time to find parking on the street lol. So far I’ve been lucky!

I was REALLY REALLY excited to try this place. I was in the area snagging free books with my friend at the Book Thing of Baltimore and my friend and I came here after. I ordered half jollof rice and half spaghetti, suya beef, and then spicy slaw on the side. I also got the passion fruit ginger drink to complement my drink. My food was SOOOO GOOD. The spaghetti and rice was GASS. The suya was delicious. My friend got chicken and it was sooooo good, I definitely need to get chicken next time. There are so many options for sides and sauces to add – I didn’t know what to pick. My biggest critique is that I would like them to have toppings that are cooked/warm. I chose not to get any toppings. My friend got corn and it was cold. I do think they should swap their current toppings with steamed corn, sautéed onions, etc. We spent about $21-22 for a bowl and a drink, and with the amount we are paying, I feel like they should fill our bowl up more.

Everyone was super nice and cool. Service was smooth and quick. There was a decent line when we arrived but it moves fast, we probably waiting about 10 mins but that’s not too bad with how long the line was. This place is in the food hall, so there’s plenty of seating to eat. I would definitely come back when I’m in the area and try a different combination.

I went to Jollof Bowl with some skepticism at first, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!

The food was absolutely delicious — the jollof rice was perfectly seasoned, and the variety of dishes they offer was just right. The portions were huge, and everything was cooked to perfection.

What really stood out to me was the price — four of us ordered a ton of food, with plenty of extras, and it came out to less than $100. Talk about a steal! I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you’re in the mood for something flavorful and filling without breaking the bank. Definitely will be coming back!

I stopped by Jollof Bowl on a whim and I’m glad I did. The jollof rice was on point flavorful, not dry, not bland, just right. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, the kind of food you keep thinking about after you’re done eating.

What really stood out to me was how comfortable the place felt. No rush, no attitude, just good food and good energy. If you’re tired of eating the same things and want something that actually has flavor and soul, this spot is worth the stop. Definitely adding this to my Baltimore rotation. OH LAWDD

The best way to put this is….. it’s African chipotle. They have jollif rice and jollif noodles that you can make a wrap or a bowl. Food was delicious, the lamb and goat was tender. You can also mix Please understand that their spice level is insane. You’ve been warned.

I saw several videos on social media and decided to try. Sadly to admit, I’ve never had African food before so I didn’t really know what to order at first until I saw more videos. Below you will find a pic of our order. I enjoyed my food which was the spaghetti with beef. I don’t really like tomatoes but it made the flavors pop. The slaw was great, wish I was given a little more. The sauce was really good, had spice to it but not necessarily spicy. I will definitely get this again. My husband had the rice with the goat, unfortunately he did not enjoy his dish. The goat was really hard to chew and the rice was good but there was a portion that wasn’t cooked all the way.

Yes, the hype is real — this place absolutely delivers!
Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you can tell the ingredients are incredibly fresh.
The spice is right — balanced perfectly to add a kick without overpowering the dish(the pepper sauce was definitely hot hot)..
Friendly service and a lively atmosphere seal the deal, making this spot one I’ll be recommending to everyone who loves bold, flavorful, and fresh food experiences.

Great customer service. I was serviced quickly and everything on the menu was available. I ordered the jollof noodles, roasted lamb, extra meat= grilled beef, sweet onions, corn, and tomatoes. The veggies are fresh. The corn has no seasoning, if anything, it adds color to your bowl. The onions were not sweet. I was charged $20.99 for the bowl, an extra charge of $2.00 for the lamb and $3.00 for the beef. The passionfruit ginger beer tastes okay. I had them put the suya aoili in a container. He said it wasn’t spicy, but I wasn’t going to take any chances. Lol It actually wasn’t bad. Spicy, but tolerable. And I absolutely cannot stand the heat. Lol The bowl was also tolerable.

I learned about Jollof Bowl from a post on Instagram. It looked interesting, so I sent it to a friend who also enjoyed these foods. She said “When are we going?”, and so we went the next day.

Like others have said, the food is delicious. They are not stingy with their portions, and the food has genuine spice to it. They made it feel like home cooking.

I would definitely come through again.

I first tried this when the owner 1st moved to cross street. And the flavors of the food on my taste buds were delicious. Since that time I have occasionally crave the flavors & purchased a bowl . I love the idea African Chipotle. This is perfectly aligned with the theme of the business style. With your choice of building your bowl. Amazingly building your bowl in your combo is the uniqueness of your flavors put together. So far I have tried oxtails, chicken, shrimp,& goat. With jollof rice and the spaghetti also added fried plantains corn & coslaw. They are pretty reasonable base on what you add in your bowl. Only one thing I didnt like recently is the large bell pepper slices it overwhelmed my plate.
