Extremely disappointed after seeing good reviews and being recommended the restaurant by a friend, we booked a table for 6pm waiter was very attentive on arrival but once our order was taken we did not see much of him.
40 minutes wait for a cup of tea to arrive to the table, we then sat until 19.40 pm (1.5 hours after ordering) waiting for our food we asked the waiter how long our food would be for him to reply with “it’s coming” after seeing another customer get up and leave we decided to leave too.
We handed the waiter £15 to cover the cost of our drinks he didn’t apologise or look the least bit concerned we were leaving.
Customer service awful and unfortunately unable to rate the food as it never arrived.

Used to be very good but last few orders have been poor
Today food was 40 minutes late. Arrived cold and the chips have been substituted for crap and cheap fries

A friend and I came here while on a shortbreak. The particular nihht we wanted was the banquet night, so I booked us a table.
The customer service was excellent, nothing too much trouble and our meals served in good time and piping hot despite them being short staffed that night. The restaurant had one empty table!
The food was great, large portions too, we couldn’t eat it all.
The only thing that would have improved the evening would have been some traditional music playing in the background.

While staying in Dovercourt, we went to Joi Tandoori for a family meal and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was outstanding, real quality Indian dishes full of flavour. The Lamb Taj Mahal is a dish I’d especially recommend, it was incredible. The staff were welcoming, the atmosphere was great, and if it was closer to home, I’d definitely be a regular. If you’re in the area, make sure to give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!

What a lovely surprise to happen upon this little gem. Staff very friendly, restaurant clean and great atmosphere. Food tasty… and not overpriced. I arrived on a bike and forgot my lock… they said I didn’t need one, but the boss leant me his anyway. Close to port, don’t miss out!

If I could give this venue 6 stars, I would! The staff were super friendly and very polite! Food is amazing quality and fairly priced! They don’t have an alcohol licence but with an off licence opposite we saved a fortune on drinks and the restaurant was happy to supply us ice glasses as needed. Highly recommended!

I booked here for 14 of us on New Years Eve. As expected the food was utterly delicious. I am a severe reaction coeliac but trust this restaurant implicitly and again they did not let me down. Top food, excellent staff and owner, great value and perfectly placed by Dovercourt Station and opposite the off licence – yes, it is a take your own alcohol restaurant.
5 stars for sure.

Very nice staff, couldn’t do enough . Food all good, had a King prawn purrie & tried Bengali lamb . All excellent. 25 items on starters alone! Spoiled for choice
