I stopped in for lunch with a colleague at Johnson’s Seafood and Steak, and we had such a great experience. We started with the calamari, which was a large portion with plenty of rings and tentacles.
I ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad, and it was massive with a generous piece of chicken. This made for a great lunch and leftovers to bring home for dinner.
We both tried their seasonal cocktails, and my gingerbread espresso martini was fabulous! They also have an impressive craft beer selection, and sitting at the bar had great vibes overall.

Johnson’s got our business today because we weren’t smart enough to realize we stumbled into it while exploring Northwoods Brewery. Our server was great and the seafood was fresh and good. How can you wrong with a fried food extravaganza!! Whole belly clams and fish tacos were done well and our plates were clean. We didn’t partake in their ice cream which is clearly a hit with the locals.
Would go back but next time to actually try Northwoods.

Our mouths were watering for whole belly clams. We were disappointed bc they arrived overcooked and hard. We told the second bar waitress and she offered to bring them back but we declined and ate a few. When the first bar waitress came back she asked us how everything was and we said horrible and she took our plates away so quickly I wanted to take a pic and she threw the bill on the table, dropped the plates on the table and left. That’s it for $100

Poor communications with takeout orders & staff. Order is always screwed up & wrong. Charged $44 for a clam roll with fries —it wasn’t a clam plate! No one is going to pay $44. Why didn’t the gal on the phone taking the order advised especially since there are no prices one menu. Not right. Got order home & 1/2 was missing g. Had to drive “back” to restaurant & get the food. Niobe said sorry or anything.
I have lived in New Durham over 50 years & often eat at Johnson’s, however, it won’t be again for a long time. No one to treat the locals who are yr bread & butter. My friends as well as I surely told them of this incident!! Mgt should have stepped in & done so

The Prime Rib Sandwich was incredible — truly one of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is spot on, especially with the snowmobiles rolling in and out right off the trails. A fun, authentic spot with great energy and even better food.

If you like or appreciate my reviews, please follow me! Every time I come back to town, Johnsons are on my menu. We don’t get decent haddock in Florida, so I’ll eat here a couple of times. Fried Haddock, fish and chips, Haddock Sandwichs, Haddock whatever. Always good service, and well prepared food. Got the Haddock Sandwich for the first time, and wow, it’s enormous. And, of course, I had to grab some tips over at the meats shop.

Our family loves this place for getting ice cream! The variety of ice cream offered here is extensive! There is something for everyone! And the portions are extremely generous! As a grown adult, I have ordered the kiddie size many times and was completely satisfied. I really appreciate the picnic tables outside. Although, they are often not clean so I try to go with lysol wipes. We also love to get seafood when we dine in! Great service and super portions!

This is an updated review. I was there today, May 19th, 2021 and this review is going to be a lot better than the last one. I did not have a good experience the last time I was there and we’re previous times, but today was different. I went at a time of day when the restaurant area was not super busy. There were a lot of people there for ice cream ordering inside and eating it outside. I went for lunch to celebrate my birthday a day late. So I ordered a burger and I have to say for a seafood restaurant it was one of the best burgers I ever had! It was cooked to perfection and the fries were hot and crispy. And then I had a hot fudge sundae with mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert. My waitress was very attentive and very pleasant. Even though she was pretty busy she was very attentive to all of her customers. I will definitely go back again the next time I am craving a really good burger.

Ordered the baked haddock, it was $17 but only 2 inches by 3 inches, the taste was great but not worth the price. I’ve never been served such a small piece of haddock at a restaurant. The place wasn’t particularly busy but the server wasn’t around much. If I ever went back, I would definitely not order the baked haddock.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here, but unfortunately, my elderly grandmother experienced a medical emergency as we were finishing our meal and an ambulance had to be called. The entire staff was absolutely incredible during the situation — they immediately called 911, brought supplies to help care for my grandmother, and remained calm and attentive throughout.
Another guest, a nurse with 30 years of experience, kindly stepped in to assist while I waited for the ambulance. Multiple members of the waitstaff and kitchen staff checked on me to make sure I was okay and to ask if I needed anything. Their kindness, quick action, and compassion truly went above and beyond.
My grandmother is still in the hospital but is expected to recover. In the rush to follow the ambulance, I’m not even sure we cleaned up properly, but I’m deeply grateful for how caring and composed everyone was.
To all the staff working during lunch on 10/27 — thank you from the bottom of my heart.
