My kids and I were in town for Thanksgiving and wanted to try the fish. I was willing to sacrifice a few moments in the smokey atmosphere in hopes of having some good fish. I had a Styrofoam cup with sprite in it and was immediately told I can’t bring in outside drinks, ok no big deal I get it it’s a bar, but the lady that told us was the bar manager and she was not super polite about it. After being seated, the bar manager ended up also being our server. She wasn’t rude, but she wasn’t kind or nice or even attentive, again, I get it, it’s a BAR. We all definitely felt like we were more of a hindrance than paying customers, and we aren’t the type of people to run someone to death with requests anyway but she hardly stopped to check on us. We were there eating with a local and I asked for onion rings instead of whatever the side was and she said it was a 4.99 up charge which I said ok to. My friend said, after the lady left the table, that she has NEVER been charged for onion rings. We didn’t say anything. We got the bill, and my friend picked it up. She tipped the lady 15 dollars on a 50 dollar bill!! Not bad right! Now tell me why my friend got an alert from her bank asking if she meant to tip 49%! Said the tip was 25 dollars! My friend has called multiple times to speak with her. She’s never available and doesnt return her calls. My friend told the person who took each message why she was calling and NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT. For that reason, I am posting this review. If that establishment runs their business this way, fudging tips, charging extra when they want to, I can’t imagine how many drunk regulars have been robbed blind so unaware it’s even happening! We are going to see if we can request a copy of the receipt and, since they are not willing to fix this mistake, press charges. I will update my review with the bar manager’s name, I forgot it but my friend knows it.

We are here on vacation. Usually when I stop in small towns, I normally do not receive great hospitality because of the color of my skin. I must say John’s Frosted Mug was great. The food was great and the employees were excellent. Thank you for the great welcome, John. You have great people working for you.

We’ve been going to John’s for 10+years on Fridays for their DELICIOUS Perch Special. We brought people from out of the area to John’s to enjoy it with us as well.
The last few times we’ve gone they’ve served ABOUT half of the amount of Perch, which is disappointing, but what’s even MORE disappointing is that we SWEAR they’re using smaller plates to fool your mind. In all honesty, it probably wouldn’t bother us if they cut the price as well(even by a buck to show his faith), but that didn’t happen. Tonight my Perch was luke warm, at best.
I guess good things never last. It’s disappointing.

I love John’s Frosted Mug in Forsyth, Missouri . It is a 40 year tradition of Great Family, Friends, Food, Drinks and Times. Produkt honoring US Armed Forces. The totem pole I recently made for John that now sits on the front porch says all this.

The food and service are wonderful. Our problem is the smoking in there. I have asthma and it shuts down my breathing. We were with friends so we stayed this time, but we will not be back again.

Holy cow i can’t believe we had 2 dinners and 2 drinks each and my bill was only $28!
