Hosh
This is genuinely one of the most disappointing sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life.
The Italian hoagie I ordered came with a mountain of ham on top of the sandwich and while that may sound good at first, it proved to be a hassle as the only way to eat such a thing would be unhinge your jaw like a snake. Not to mention, it threw off the ratio of the taste and ended up being overly salty. The onions came in large chunks instead of the thin rings that other, more legitimate establishments have. A combination of these two missteps led to a salty, oniony, and ultimately sad excuse of a $12 sandwich.
This place does not seem clean as the meats and cheeses are left to absorb the musty atmosphere and there was indeed a yellow film that coated everything as another commentator suggested.
I think what disappoints me most about this place is the fact other people have left good reviews. It doesn’t make sense to me that other people could come out of that place with a positive impression but I suppose the area is rife with easily entertained troglodytes.
In conclusion, don’t come here. Go to the wawa 2 minutes down the street.

I first tried John’s in the 90s and my go to was a corned beef special. I moved out of state and today was my first visit back in almost 30 years. The store has obviously aged ,right along with me and I did notice that it could use some TLC And it seemed a little dark, but there were tables and chairs where you could eat. So I asked for the same thing, the corned beef special, and sadly, the owner no longer orders it because she doesn’t get enough requests for it. so she suggested turkey breast instead of the corned beef, which I thought was a great idea so that’s what I ordered. She thoughtfully put the coleslaw on the side, so the sandwich wasn’t a mess by the time I got home and she also informed me that the turkey breast is made in house which I thought could be a complete disaster or a delicious new find. I was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. I could only eat half of it so you definitely get your money’s worth. I found the owner to be reserved, but not rude at all as some of the reviews have suggested. She seemed like a very lovely person An informed me that she had been there for about 35 years and is now the owner. I will definitely be going back for this as well as the breakfast sandwiches, which seem to be big sellers and they also cater. “ Mom and Pop “ stores are getting harder and harder to find so I’m delighted to find one of my old favorites still going.

Wonderful little deli. Both women working were very friendly and helped me decide what to get for lunch. Chicken cutlet sandwich is top notch; the ingredients are fresh and the bread is excellent. Give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed!

Different cheesesteak #1048 in the last five years. Interesting stop. I explain in full video. I got the chocolate chip cookies, 4 for $2, you know I love that. The cookie dough dipped in chocolate and chocolate cherries looked amazing. They were making chicken cutlets. I was extremely close to getting a chicken cutlet sandwich. They use their oven roasted beef for the cheesesteak. I was surprised how different the texture was from a steak. $8 cheesesteak. When I have been a good boy and deserve a treat I will be going back.

They have good food but they are the most miserable people in Aston. They are always short and sound as if they can care less if your there. Don’t forget if we don’t buy you don’t have a business.

Home cooked food everyday. They make the food right there and you can taste it! They know exactly what my daughter wants and always ask her how school was. It gives the feeling of the way things used to be. Johns is the classic warm cozy feeling I wish I could have every day!

John’s Corner Deli exemplifies everything special about small, locally owned businesses. Deb, the owner, is incredibly hardworking and takes a personal interest in her customers. Regulars will appreciate how she remembers names and food preferences, adding a personal touch you simply won’t find at big chains.
Food here is always fresh and delicious, with specials rotating regularly. For instance, chicken cutlets might only be available every other Thursday, or roast beef on a specific day. If a particular special, like mushroom soup, isn’t your favorite, the regular menu always offers plenty of great options to choose from.
Primarily a breakfast and lunch spot, the deli operates with an early morning start and closes around 6 PM. It’s not really a dinner destination, but if you plan ahead, it’s perfect for picking up something simple to take home. Deb also offers catering services and preplanned holiday meals, though you’ll need to coordinate with her directly.
Delivery services like GrubHub or DoorDash aren’t offered, likely due to their high fees, which can significantly cut into already tight profit margins in the food industry. However, this doesn’t take away from the experience. Working from home, I often call ahead to place my order and pick it up on my way out. My food is always ready when I arrive, and the quick trip doubles as a nice break from the computer.
John’s Corner Deli is more than just a place to grab a bite—it’s a welcoming spot where customers feel valued, and every meal reflects Deb’s commitment to quality and care. A much better option than Wawa, and a local gem worth supporting!

Don’t try calling this deli if you have any questions. They will hang up without responding. Very rude and unprofessional.

I wasn’t sure I made the right choice depending on Google reviews for a bagel sandwich when I walked in, but they weren’t wrong, the egg, ham, and cheese on everything bagel was AWESOME! The deli is aged and smells like years of indoor smoking and there was no coffee, but the service was GREAT. If you’re looking for a great breakfast sandwich with friendly service, this a hidden gem.
