We were at Great Wolf and my wife was craving soul food. We just happened to see this little hole in the wall so we dropped in. My wife absolutely loved their ox tails! She had cabbage and rice for her sides. She is still missing the skin from her fingers from licking the juice! Seriously, I’m not big on soul food. However, if my wife says it was good, THEN IT WAS GOOD!

My husband wings was not done, they was pink My cabbages was overly cooked tasted like they had been sitting all day! The curry chicken was pink also, My daughter came in right after me& got freshly cooked cabbages! As u can see the difference in the cabbages 0/10 Manager acted very meanful bc I requested a refund& I only got the wings refunded

Could’ve been much better if you have FRESH MEAT! Serving the people old food! My pork chop was brown as hell & the chicken was slimey!!! The only thing that was good was the coating/batter. Fries were not cooked all the way through.

Loved the food. We randomly stopped here during a drive around the area. We were all pleased. Brown chicken, smoked 1/2 chicken and red snapper. All were so yummy. Will definitely go back

My husband saw this place & wanted to give it a try. We got there at 11:30 & didn’t receive our food until about 12:15. The oxtails were old and dry, also tasted like barbecue sauce. The goat was dry. The cabbage was over cooked. The Red Velvet cake was actually chocolate cake. The rice was dry & overcooked. I guess I said all this to say…we got re-warmed food from the previous day. We won’t be back!

I am SO EXCITED to write this review on John’s Caribbean on Whitesville Rd in Lagrange.
I may not be Jamaican, but I know my Caribbean food and this is it!!
The cabbage is so flavorful. The rice and peas are on point. The jerk chicken is spicy and packed with flavor. I will be a regular!
This red velvet cake is so moist and the icing is so good. My gosh!!!
I was also pleasantly surprised at how clean and inviting it is. He had such a nice gospel playlist going. Lagrange needs this!!!

Got the ox tails with red beans and rice and Jerk chicken with yellow rice. Everything was fresh except for the red beans and rice. A little on the dry side. They aren’t trying to waste any food here. LOL. Other than that the food was very flavorful. Plenty of spice on the jerk chicken. Oxtails we’re tender. Yellow rice was really really good! Grabbed a beef patty also and the pastry was so soft and flaky. Delicious. Will definitely be back.
