Went by myself. Sat at the bar on Friday night. I ordered a beer and got a menu. They never came to take my order. They (the 2 working behind the bar) stayed at the other end talking to someone they knew. I sat there and got ignored for 30 minutes. I had to ask 3 times for my bill. This place has definitely gone downhill.

My sister and I stopped by one day and I got some French onion soup and a turkey Reuben with fries. My sister said the French onion soup was very comparable and maybe even better than Grinders French onion soup and they have good soup. She was right. It was good. The turkey Rueben wasn’t my best choice. The bread was a little soggy but that makes sense because of the sauerkraut. I also wish the turkey had more flavor.
Overall it was a great experience. The waitress was awesome and attentive and the place was clean and inviting.
I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Folks told us that John’s was an iconic venue for the elites of Canton to meet. They closed the old larger location and opened a aller venue in a North Canton strip mall.
We met friends for an early (4pm) Sat dinner and it was crowded. We were immediately seated. Wait staff took our drinks order and brought bread. When the drinks came, We ordered. Food came within 10 minutes. I ordered a Cuban with Onion Rings. My partner ordered a Reuben. The food was excellent. Hot and flavorful. Nicely seasoned and a healthy portion size.
Now for the bad news. John’s is painfully noise. Conversation is impossible. I wear hearing aids and I turned them off and used them as ear plugs. I actually measured the sound at 110 decibels, same as a lawnmower. Within 10 minutes, I had a migraine. Until they improve the sound dampening, I will never go back no matter how good the food and service is.

John’s bar and grille is a great spot. So much better than the old place in Canton. Huge bar and tons of seating. We got take out. My black and blue burger was over cooked and bland tasting. The sweet potato fries were soggy. But my family loved their food. I will return but won’t get a burger again.

Great place in Oakwood Plaza for lunch and dinner. Good prices. Sports always on. Good for people of all ages! Came in to get a bite to eat during the monthly market in the plaza. I enjoy getting coffee to walk around before I shop and end up in John’s Bar for lunch. Lots of people love this place so don’t be surprised if its a bit of a wait at times but the prices and menu are worth it. Cuban sandwich and a beer at lunch on a Saturday hit the slot. Canton staple.

Love this spot that is so close to everything in Plain Township! John’s Bar & Grille has been around Canton forever and is always the place to be for a good meal, better drinks, and exquisite service. Celeste was so great with our family and truly gave us an amazing dining experience and contributed to the atmosphere. All of our food came slower than expected, but maybe that was because we were hungry. We will be sure to come back soon!
