We were looking at our take-out pizza options last night and decided to give Johnny’s another chance, even though we have found the service and food inconsistent in the past. We ordered a garden salad (which was great!) and an XL pizza – half cheese and half onions, olives, and mushrooms. We opened the box and just shook our heads. It looked like the olives and the onions were an afterthought on the pizza — not baked into the cheese but just thrown on afterwards. The onions were barely cooked. We had to pick all the onions off and cook them ourselves and then add mozzarella cheese from home to get them to stick to the pizza. Otherwise, the olives and onions would have just fallen off the pizza if you tried to eat a slice. Ironically, pizzerias often skimp on toppings while charging expensive prices; but here, one half of the pizza was so smothered in toppings, it totally overwhelmed the ability to taste what was below. Finally, the rim of the crust was separating from the rest of the pizza in several places. Someone needs to go for pizza-making training and the management needs to supervise the quality of what is handed to the customer. Otherwise, if this is Johnny’s idea of a good product, we will not be returning. Sorry to have to post this. Photo included.

I’m newer to the area and was in search of my go to pizza spot and this is it! I’ve done carry out and dined in and enjoyed it both times. The service is super good the waiters/waitresses are always nice and sincere. Pictured below are the garlic knots and a 18” half pepperoni, half Hawaiian pizza. Highly recommend.

BEST CHEESESTEAK IN DMV AREA!! I just moved to the area and have been in search of an authentic cheesesteak, this one takes the cake. Cannot go wrong with anything at Johnnys. Staff is fantastic, quick and personable. 10/10, look no further!!! Thank you to the staff here who put in the hard work day in and day out!

Nice vibe when you first walk in. Amazing selection even right at opening. You can order by the slice, choose from about 8 lunch specials (every day if the week) or you can order a whole pizza. Dinning in or Togo is super easy. We had garlic knots, calimari, a slice & the gyro plate, alllllll ammmmaazing! The people that helped us were awesome too!

– pizza was really good and had a great flavor but had way too much chicken on it which took away from pizza in my opinion. The vodka sauce was really nice tasting. The only other issue I had with the pizza was it was overcooked and hard which made it a bit hard to eat.

Wow, I’ve been coming here for years, both solo and with my family, to enjoy some of the best pizza the DMV has to offer. Being served by Johnny himself, who works six days a week, was truly the icing on the cake. I made sure to tell him how much my family appreciates the care and quality he puts into every slice.
I love that you can order by the slice when you’re not super hungry, but still want to indulge in the experience each bite takes you on. As a corporate woman who prioritizes fitness every week, I don’t play about my cheat days! And nothing is worse than a cheat meal that doesn’t satisfy the craving. Johnny’s has never missed the mark.
The service, the pizza, and the sense of community here are everything and more. Thank you for all that you do, Johnny’s! I look forward to continuing to support and celebrate your impact in 2026 and for many years to come. ✨

The food here was amazing. I loved the variety and how friendly the staff was. The food came out quickly. I ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza (it tasted just like authentic Italian food on a pizza), Mo’s special (great flavor combination), spinach pinwheel (nice and cheesy), Sicilian (also nice and cheesy), and # pepperoni slice (perfect ratio between bread and ingredients). My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because it all looked delicious. They also have Coke Zero which is my favorite. Next time I visit I’ll make sure we come here again.

Like many, it’s hard to find comparable NY pizza. It’s just HARD. Anyway, this comes really close. The base crust is thin, (I think it’s still a little thinner and the hand crust is a little more fluffy in NY). At first bite, I was like….ahhh! that sauce is authentic!!. The only other thing missing was the grease. LOL.
The options here are great too! we always start out with a plain pizza to see if it needs anything. I can’t wait to try the calzone next!! You will love it here.
