I wanted to like this place. My wife suggested we give Johnny’s Korean fried chicken a shot for dinner. We ordered on line take out. Their “signature wings” were bland, small with the coating falling off and missing on the wings. The sauce on the side was good but couldn’t save the wings.
The chicken sandwich was three nuggets (or small strips?) on a bun with pickles. Again, very bland, dry small pieces of chicken.
My wife liked the ramen, the presentation and portions were really nice.
We also had chicken nuggets with mozzarella sticks which was okay.
The service was mechanical, and just okay.
All in all, after 85 bucks I was disappointed.
I probably won’t be back.

Two thumbs down.

Fast food quality with restaurant pricing.

We got the ramen since their chicken reviews here haven’t been good.

You order as if you’re at a fast food joint like McDonald’s. They call your name when your order is ready.

Food came out in plastic carry out type bowls in a bag. Looked great when the lid was opened.

Taste wise, it’s salty. For what they charge, they should have better/more ingredients. The broth was warm, not hot. The egg was ice cold in the middle. Had been over cooked too.

I can’t recommend this place, not with their pricing. IMO, the ramen should cost 1/2 what they charge.

Went there opening week. They didn’t have bowls to serve Ramen! Highly disappointed. I went back early Nov & gave Miso Udon w/pork a try. Being an Asian foodie, I must say I wasn’t disappointed. Great presentation in sturdy takeout bowl, good portion size ($17 is a bit high for ramen), tasty, 4 slices of tender pork belly. Soup was slightly too salty, but acceptable eaten with the bland udon. I like the boiled egg for added protein, esp if you’re counting macros. I will try them again!
– 2nd try late Nov, ordered Tonkatsu Ramen & Shrimp Ramen (buy1get1 half off!), calamari & shrimp tempura appetizers. The pork portion got smaller than last time, but still tasty. The amount of SHRIMP was impressive…10 good size shrimps! I highly recommend the calamari for taste, portion size, and my daughter loved the dipping sauce. The shrimp tempura was small (def not like sushi restaurant quality, not panko), but for $1 /shrimp, it satisfied the craving. Overall, thumbs UP.

Rapidly deteriorating quality, bad and slow service, and arrogant owner. Long review worth read.

I promise this long review is worth the read. I went here 4 times since it opened. The first time the food was great. However each time I went back the food quality slipped. The last 2 times I went I received chicken that had little coating and was dry. I also didn’t notice much of a taste difference between many of the sauces. The last time I got 2 ramens both eggs were somehow way overcooked but also cold as if they had been made days in advance. The pork was tough and the beef was chewy. Without broth the ramen is quite bland. Where did the broth go? All over the carpet of my brand new car, all 5-7oz of it! Why? Because they closed the container on some noodles and it didn’t seal.

This is where my experience went downhill fast. I went back to get a refund and all they would offer me was a credit for ramen and told me Johnny wasn’t there to talk to despite me seeing him through the kitchen door window. Only after waiting and refusing to give a number was I finally able to speak to someone. Johnny came out of the kitchen fast and with an attitude and immediately started blaming me despite having pictures of the ramen not sealed. Gave me a partial refund and shoed me out of the store without so much as an apology or even giving me the time of day.

Since then I learned that this is what to expect from this owner. I’ve heard from previous staff that he can be nasty and keeps all there tips. Just one more reason to never go back there.

$220 to have my car cleaned. And there was a “Ramen water line” under the mat like a flood car. I attached a photo better highlighting why it didn’t seal for you Johnny since you didn’t want to hear the end of our conversation.

Johnny’s has some of the best fried chicken wings and onion rings going! Fried up crispy, lite, and seasoned to perfection. I had the sweet n hot sauce with them… whoooo, that sweet heat!!! My bubby had a chicken sandwic, and believe me when I say it puts the major chains to shame.
They have Ramen bowls too that look amazing.
The decor is really nice and the atmosphere was peaceful.
Foodies you owe it to yourselves to give Johnny’s a go. You won’t be disappointed.

We love sushi house next door so we had to try the fried chicken. I got the chicken bang bang rice bowl and my wife got the honey garlic chicken rice bowl. First off, the portion size on the rice bowl is insane. You definitely get your moneys worth. I thought mine was bland but my wife loved hers. We also got their chicken wings and they were awesome! We got the original without sauce on top, but on the side. I highly recommend their wings. Batter was flavorful without sauce and chicken falls off the bone nice. They are small though so order a lot if your hungry. I will be going back for the wings.

IT’S NOT POPEYE’S — Korean-style fried chicken is double fried in a thin layer of potato starch batter, while American-style fried chicken uses wheat flour (often with added buttermilk). It has a lighter profile built for crunch and bold sauces, not the salt and grease you’re used to.

We were super happy with the wings and boneless (tenders) combo, and will definitely be coming back to try the ramen. So happy that we don’t have to drive to Delaware for Korean fried chicken any more!

On opening day, Johnny’s Korean Fried Chicken and Ramen was packed! About seven ahead of me getting orders to go, and several customers at tables. It’s lovely inside: very casual and fast food looking, but comfortable. My ramen was outstanding and packaged very well for a to go order. My husband had the spicy chicken with dumplings. Six pieces with really tasty dipping sauces. The extra hot sauce is really hot! Highly recommended.
