Nice little diamond in the rough. We did not get mixed drinks.So I cannot comment on that.But the food was absolutely on point. I get burgers just about everywhere.I go because burgers are different everywhere you go. The bartender was very pleasant and happy to joke around. My wife got the chicken quesadilla.She said it was spicy and hot as it was served.Everything was fresh.We were not there during a really busy hours.But either way, the food came out hot.The food came out good quality salsa, the chips were good.They seemed to use the same spice.They use on their fries and sprinkled a little bit over the chips. I see someone star reviews.And i’m not understanding why everybody has bad days. But this place is more like the positive reviews they get not the negative. All the customers seem to be having a good time.There was about fourteen of us, a group of nine young men from germany and just some girlfriends hanging out in separate parties. Definitely a quality beach experience.It’s right on the beach.So you get a good view. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely go back.I say, if you like either one of the dishes that I have pictured, it’s definitely a safe bet that you’re going to like them.The burgers were flavored really well. The bun was very well prepared. The booths were comfortable in the seating outside was excellent.

This was my second time comming here! We got there right before the fireworks started but was able to get a booth. I came here specifically for the California Burrito that they served. I had it 3 years ago and had to come back to eat it again! Took my friend to try it and he said it was the best thing he ate at va beach and we went to captain georges buffet the night before. Overall the experience was great again and I would highly recommend if you go to va beach!

Always a fan of boardwalk seating, this place was close to our hotel and offered a great view of the beach.
I ordered the salad with blackened mahi – it was delicious and full of tasty veggies. The fish had plenty of seasoning and was sliced up.
The quesadilla here is also good. The ingredients may turn away some people but the black olives and jalapeños were a surprisingly good addition.
We also got the fish tacos – another delicious entree, the fish and toppings paired perfectly.
If you’re looking for kids food- the fried shrimp was delicious and they give you a good portion. The fried chicken was nothing special, but the fries were a stand out!
The Johnny Rita here was nothing special, if you’re looking for a margarita, it’s a solid option!

Okay, so let’s just say.. Go on ahead and treat yourself to a nice outdoor meal accompanied by an orange crush. The food was fresh and scrumptious, the chips and dip.. mmmm… from start to finish in a busy environment the courtesy and attentiveness was excellent. Smiles all the way around. Our orders were made exactly as we ordered and we didn’t break the bank. Can’t wait to return!

Beach shack vibes all the way. Great service from Bartender Billy had me stay longer than planned running two tabs one after another I did not want to leave. But when I did i got back to my hotel to realize i stole the hotel bathroom key. End forgot my phone at the bar, but Alas I returned and bill. Add my phone absolutely fantastic time today. Thank you very much to all. I will return.

My fiancé and I after checking in our motel on Wednesday, looked through the local brochures and we both immediately said we have to try Johnny Manana’s Boardwalk Cafe and Tequileria so that is what we did Thursday afternoon. We were greeted by the bartender who we both found to be not only very attentive but very friendly, smiled the entire time, and she was actually familiar with our hometown as she informed us she had a friend she attended Longwood with and everyone called him Danville and yes we live in good ole southern Va aka Danville Va! I was looking for a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt to purchase as this is a hobby I have had for many years and that is to collect as many bar shirts from all over the world. I love the local spots and atmosphere so when we travel that is at the top of our bucket list to begin the search for. Johnny Manana’s did not disappoint one bit from the time we entered until the time we left. We met the other bartender at shift change and she was just like the first young lady who served us, sorry ladies we forgot y’all’s name but certainly have not forgotten you two. We had a great conversation with another couple who stopped in and within minutes both bartender’s, us, and the couple were all talking and sharing laughs and we hated to cut our night short but we were tired but we both said to each other as we were walking back to our motel we were going to stop in again within the next couple of days also Johnny himself was going to check on a sweatshirt in my size after speaking with our bartender that none were in my size. Little did I know I would be returning solo the next night as I was told go to Johnny’s so she could get ready! Upon arrival I had no idea she was going to send her ghost after me ( picture attached ) thanks to the wonderful workers who agreed to do this picture for me. I walked away that evening with my sweatshirt and I will be advertising all over the place and also walked away with great, fun memories! We will make Johnny’s our regular spot each time we visit Va Beach and that is going to be often! Can’t wait to see the staff again and this time I’ll be on the look out for ghost!

Loved our experience at Johnny Manana’s. Came here with my fiancé and friends after a soccer tournament. Every time we are in Virginia Beach we make sure to stop by. Mezcal Mule is the best in town. We tried the taco’s and they tasted amazing. Service was quick and friendly. There was also live music. Great service, great vibe, great drinks.
