We were wanting to try this place out and glad we came out tonight! I ordered the Chicken Steak Philly was good and for the price you couldn’t beat the taste and size of the philly. It’s been awhile since we had philly steaks so I endured in it as a treat. He ordered the Beef Steak his was good he just wished had a bit more cheese on his. But all in all the Onion Rings gave it some flavor on the side with that nice diping sauce it comes with. Also they have some extra condiments you can put on it as well available. Nice Atmosphere friendly staff welcomes you in. Definitely coming back to try more out on the menu!

Quick and friendly service, clean and contemporary atmosphere. Owner on site to direct the action. Awesome roast pork. Sauteed broccoli rabe was perfect, with a hint of garlic. But PLEASE consider using shaved provolone, not a slice of half-melted cheese. Cheesesteak was excellent. Gooey and chewy cheese, and the seeded Liscios roll made it special. Work on consistency (example: amount of onions…my friend’s cheesesteak was almost overloaded and I had too few) and you’ll be the best in FL.

Finally was able to make it into Johnnys today and WOW it definitely did not disappoint! HANDS DOWN the Best Philly I’ve had in Florida. They use quality ribeye and the bread is authentic. The staff was amazing as well. Very friendly and generous. The owner Mike was very personable as well and made our wait seem like we just ordered. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

EDIT: 1/25. Went back. Added photos of cheese fried and a photo of the sandwich. You can clearly see which one looks better…( first visit with white paper YUMMY ) idk what happened. The first sub a few days ago was the best I’ve ever had. Today was soggy. No mayo. No cheese. The cheese fries were dry as could be. Barely any cheese as you can see… 2 visits in one week with 2 completely different experiences. :/
Also both times I picked up right as the food was ready and drove home same distance ate at the same time no delays.
The new owners who changed this previous cheese steak place absolutely know what they are doing. This is by far the best cheesesteak I have ever had. I’ve had a bunch all over Florida. Nothing is close. Period. After the first bite, I actually got up and danced. Ask the wife lol… Our order was wrong, but totally understandable as they are just opening. Asked for no onions and got extra somehow. Wife didn’t eat it but good thing I got an extra sandwich of something else for tomorrow so she had it today. Now I’ll have another cheesesteak for lunch left overs for tomorrow I won’t complain. Seriously best cheesteak out there. Oh and the wiz fries are insane. Best I’ve had as well. They surpassed shake shack which held the previous title for me. – your local certified big back

Welp, we have a winner, boys and girls! This is the best cheesesteak I have ever had outside of the Philly area. Spent my first 42 years enjoying the best cheese steaks in Philly. And I have been searching for a really good one in Florida ever since then. There’s some decent ones, but nothing rivals this.Very nice Liscio’s roll, Cooper Sharp cheese, loaded with delicious ribeye, nicely seasoned, and perfectly sautéed fried onions. It’s up there with the best. The menu right now is really big and there are lots of tempting options. The owner told me he will shrink that menu when they see what sells and what doesn’t sell. In the meantime, very happy to have this place so close to home!

This place is top notch in every way. First of all, just to get it out of the way… yes this is now the king of cheesesteaks in south west florida. Nobody comes close to Johnny’s.
Now that thats out of the way I can drill down a bit.
The atmosphere is incredible, very clean inside with very cool decor. The menu is big and beautiful and very easy to read/understand. Prices are very fair, and you get a lot for your money.
My cheesesteak was huge, packed with meat and the perfect amount of coopers sharp american cheese. The meat was seasoned very well, and absolutely delicious and tender with no chewy fatty pieces… which frankly is enough to make me throw a cheesesteak right in the trash.
The staff is super friendly and courteous, always making sure you are doing ok and asking if you need anything. This place is going to be a gold mine and I love to see it.
Johnny Longhots, you got a long time customer in me, and I wish you all nothing but the most wonderful success!

Wow STRAIGHT FROM PHILLY and this is a MUST! The place was completely packed with Philadelphias and “wanna be” Philadelphians and with the line was out the door! They have roast pork, hot links, hoagies and other Philly specialties but the star of the show is the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks! They have provolone, American, and “cheese” WIZ for cheese selections and the WIZ is a Philly tradition. I know because I am originally from Philly! They beat out Pats, Gino’s, DAllesandro’s but they are is “neck and neck” with Jim’s steaks on South street!
The owner was named Michael is friendly, professional, and truly goes out of his way to make sure every person who walks through the door is welcome. He greets all his customers, and high fives anyone from Philly like they are part of the family! Great food, great place, and the service spectacular! They even have an employee named Preston who works harder than any kid I know, busing tables, bringing out food and flashing a huge smile while spreading kindness where ever he goes. When you go to this restaurant make sure to say HI to him! What a great kid!! If you come to Sarasota and miss a taste of home or just want to try a famous Philly Cheesesteak, GO HERE! No better place in the South! They have a small dining area which is accessible and a couple tables outside which would be a more accessible option if you have a large mobility device on a busy day! Although I suspect they are busy everyday! There is a total PHILLY vibe inside and out and everywhere you look, which makes you think you are back on South Street! I had been craving a yummy meatball and these might be the best ones I’ve ever eaten. So flavorful! I happened to find them on their opening weekend… what a delight! The owner, Michael, was enthusiastically greeting everyone and made sure we all got cookies or a (incredible) fresh made cannoli. The fact that Rocky was playing on the TV was a fun detail. I’ve been back already and the place was packed both times. This place is the real deal and is clearly a labor of love.

Went for lunch today, got a cheesesteak, hoagie, and roast pork sandwich. All three items were excellent! Friendly staff, met Mike the owner super nice guy. Food came out quickly even as busy as they were. Keep up the good work, hope to be back again soon.
