My husband has been talking about trying this place for a year now. He was so excited to try it. It was a cool little place loved the setup. We read reviews prior to going. We had the Birria tacos had barely any cheese at all for both orders. The menu advertised melted cheese so I was expecting a good portion of it. It was basically just a dry, hard and burnt taco. I only ate a few bites of 1 taco. It was bland and burnt and I couldn’t stomach it. I love birria and this was definitely not it. Our drinks were brought half full and they charge for refills. The server didn’t tell us that it was an additional charge for another half full glass. This was our first and last time.

Since moving to MI 15 years ago from SanDiego, I have been searching for decent tacos. The birria tacos here are the best I have ever had. The other tacos are a fusion of sorts that are amazing. If you are driving along 96, do your self a favor and take the Webberville exit for some tacos or other great smoked meats. You will be glad you did.

Take out dinner for four. I had three brisket filled tacos. Fantastic. My wife enjoyed her brisket Mac and cheese (I tried it. Not really for me. It was kind of Velveta-like). My brother-in-law had a brisket burger which included two beef patties and brisket on top. The big guy ate that, but couldn’t eat all his fries (the one’s I scarfed from him were great AND they weren’t really even hot by that time).
My sister-in-law liked her dinner too.
The very friendly people working said that all the smoking is done right outside and boy you can sure tell the difference from other places. The brisket in my order was really nice and fresh tasting. Not too fatty or perfectly smoked. (Some places make it dry and sooty). My tacos included sweet pickled jalapenos. I expected they’d be tart. Those were a nice change.
I understand an outdoor dining patio may be in the works for this summer. I’m hoping they pull that off. This was the best take out that I’ve had in a long time. Next time I’m in town, I’ll stop again. Thanks so much for making teally good food and for serving large portions at reasonable prices.

We decided to take a ride from Howell on this cold Saturday and it was 100 percent worth the drive!!! We will be back. Johnny Gringo’s is an incredible little gem. The food was delicious! Very unique flavors, fresh and the meat is cooked to perfection! Michaela greeted us at the door and was knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful. Our son has special needs and she alerted me prior to the hot Mac and cheese coming out just to see where to place the cast iron skillet. The ambiance is warm, clean and bright! Love the colors and the cow pics!!! Can’t wait to come back next weekend 🙂

Johnny Gringo’s Texican Grill in Webberville was an absolute home run for our whole family! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I had the beef tacos and they were fantastic—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and incredibly satisfying.
My daughter loved her smash burger (which says a lot), my father really enjoyed his chicken wrap, and my stepmother couldn’t stop talking about how huge and delicious the taco salad was. Everyone left happy and full, which isn’t always easy to pull off with a group like ours. Great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere—Johnny Gringo’s is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!

Amazing food, great people, and top tier atmosphere. Johnny Gringos is the first place my husband and I bring friends and family from out of town. Food is unmatched. You could order anything on the menu and love it. Their smash burgers are my personal favorite; but the burritos, tacos, and loaded Mac and cheese are to die for. Do yourself a favor and stop in, it definitely won’t be the last.

New local spot. They smoke their own meat on the premises. Slabs of rib, brisket and pulled pork. Tried the ribs right out of the smoker. Fish on Friday. Mac and cheese with smoked meats or chicken. Owner and staff are very friendly and courteous. Delicious. I will be back for Friday fish

It was a slow afternoon, me and my son went there right after Christmas for brunch both with hungry bellies. The place was felt cozy, the server was good. Ordered a burger with Mac cheese for my son and brisket taco with chili soup for myself, food came on table quick, EVERYTHING tastes amazing!
I usually don’t order Chili often because they taste like canned soup to me at lots restaurants, but here, I could tell the Chili as if it was made from a home kitchen, it’s not overly processed, I dislike most chili have a strong flavor of tomato paste or too salty, I loved the chilis here it has nature food flavor although I wasn’t sure on my first bite because it was very different from my previous experiences of chili soups I’ve ever had, but my appetite didn’t lie to me, I didn’t noticed that I had finished the whole large bowl until at the very end of my meal! The taco I had, probably the best taco in my life time, I don’t mind if my food is spicy, I can handle it, I actually love it sometimes depending on what I’m eating, but for some who don’t like spicy, you’ll probably want to remove the pickled peppers before you eat, the taco here beats Taco Bell at least 10 times, the factory taco usually filled with mushed processed meats. Our experience was positive from this restaurant, rejoiced it is not another chain restaurant that near by us.
Overall, I believe the price doesn’t justify the quality, the labor costs on preparing the food. We’ll be back for ribs and hopefully they’ll serve just the brisket alone in the future, we’ll be back here for a life time, we hope they stay open that long.

I probably eat here a few times per month, the last time I were there not long ago, and I am already craving for more, I love the flavor and the authenticity of the food, I’m not sure why sometimes they run out of ribs early, however I hope they get enough, and more customers! so they’ll make a lot of BBQ daily and their meats never run out, and they’ll be able to cut the price down for all of us, I was told they’ll be serving alcohol soon at this place, that’s good news for me and my husband on a weekend. As neighbors, we personally hope this new restaurant develop well, stays open for a life time, because we plan to dine in here often!

Ordered the Harris tacos for lunch. The food was decent but not a value for the money. At $5+ per street size taco it felt a bit over priced.
