Atmosphere- 3 Stars- Local eatery in the small town of Clarksburg WV. Just a few hundred feet from the courthouse on Main Street. Located in an old storefront its a small counter service style business. Place isn’t new but seems to be clean.
Service- 4 stars- Staff was friendly and helpful.
Food- 4 Stars- I had the cheese steak and fries. I didn’t have high expectations but it was really good. Prices aren’t bad either. Menu is a decent assortment of items- from gyros, subs, pizza, salads to pasta and seafood. They also have daily specials.

From out of town stopped by for a quick lunch, SUCH a hidden gem. The cheesesteak was amazing & so are the prices. Worker’s were friendly & brought my food out to my car while I was waiting on it. 10/10 definitely going back soon:) Sub & soda for $10

Been eating here for years, since it was known as Dagwoods, and never had a bad meal or bad service experience. I customize by meals to an extent. Usually asking for heavy onion, and never am denied. I particularly like the crab bisque, gyro and Greek salad (had had dozens of times), Italian hoagie and the chicken Parmesan. Being a creature of habit I don’t stray far from those but everyone I know is always happy with their food and I work in a large downtown office with co-workers ordering here all the time, along with 3-4 of our other favorite places. A definite asset to working downtown and Clarksburg as a whole.

I’ve been a customer since the name was Dagwoods. If anyone knows it’s been some years but not a bunch. Anyways, you won’t be let down if you eat here. I’ve been eating here repeatedly over the years. Not only for myself but my family as well. It’s a nice place to eat. Take out or dine in, whichever you prefer.

I’m hosting a fundraising event at my salon next month. First time ever. Could I just buy everything for the raffle, yes I can. But as a small business I’ve been trying to get other small business involved. I’m trying to put a gift card basket together to raffle off at the event. I’ve connected with some incredible managers, owners, and small businesses doing their best to make it in the hard economy we live in currently. It’s been a pretty pleasant experience.. all things considered knowing how many people hit up all the businesses in this area. Trust me I’ve gotten it many times over the years. I walked into this business today (which I’ve gone during down time hours, if there’s a full restaurant or line I have left and returned later) I have opened doors for guest and been very respectful. Today I was met with… “The owners way to busy, and does not really care about what’s on that silly paper you have there”. There was not a soul in the restaurant or even a line at all. Johnny D’s Restaurant. I’m very pleasant and a simple no has been perfectly fine for me to receive. And I would have said the same exact thing I said when receiving the not so nice comment I was welcomed into your establishment with.. thank you so much for your consideration.

I love this place, I was her 13 yrs ago when it was Dagwoods. My personal experience has always been a great one. Since moving here it’s hard to find a good comfort food spot to remind you of home and this was the place for me. Hands down the best cheese steak sub I have ever had from a place other than a spot back in my home town. Johnny D’s your food is great and the service is exceptional keep up the good ole mom and pops food nothing like a taste of great quality food in Clarksburg wv main St. My go to spot

I gotta tell you ; I am so glad we choose to eat dinner here. Food was amazing took maybe 10 mins. I love fried Mushrooms and Cheese steak subs ;This place nailed it. Plenty of seating and very welcoming vibe. I definitely will be eating here trying more of there foods.
