I had never been here. I rolled up on my bike (it was a hot one), and was immediately asked if I needed water (on the house). Now I guess I’d better get some ice cream! Hundreds of combinations, supported by Perry’s Ice Cream, makes this valley staple (in a word) HEAVEN – and it has gratis water.

There are two ice cream places near to each other that serve Perry’s. Both are great, but I just think the ice cream tastes better from Johnny D’s. Cannoli ice cream is my favorite, and they’ve really upgraded their menu over the years. There are picnic tables outside to eat, and the staff is very friendly.

So I went two days in a row and they said they were out of cherry ice but actually confessed nobody felt like getting it out of storage. I drove an hour craving a gelato with cherry ice TWO DAYS IN A ROW. But compromised on something else… Sad I didn’t get my cherry and will just drive to Rita’s next time.
