A true Baltimore classic- like dining in your ‘club basement’ – paneling , mid century lounge chairs and lots of local sports memorabilia. We came specifically for their shrimp salad – and was as always remembered – excellent! Generous dose of shrimp ( not the small ‘cocktail’ shrimp) with lettuce and tomato. Perfect! Menu is pretty basic with a nod to the classics, fries with gravy, club sandwiches, etc. service was great – with a very honey touch. Bar looks retro too – will have to go back for a beer or two. Comforting places like The Lounge are still around and doing a good job at it!

We had a fantastic experience at Johnny D’s this morning. The food was exceptional but Natalie made the dining experience amazing. She went above and beyond to see that our every need was met. It is rare to find a server who genuinely seems to love her job and to care about the customer. She needs a raise!

A nice lil mom and pop lounge/restaurant. The food was good. Wish they had more drink options mostly only had wine . A lot of senior citizens were there when we went. I guess it’s a nice little spot for those retirees if you’re looking for a nice bite and cheap drinks.

I tried Johnny Dee’s for the first time, 3 crab cake platters with slaw and potato salad, these were the smallest 4 oz
cakes ever…. The slaw was the best part of the meal for $54…..

We attended a wake here. It was over crowded but I didn’t blame them for it. The people really tried hard to serve us all and kept up a good attitude. I would recommend it to others.

We moved to AVL from Baltimore about 13 years ago. Came back to town post- hurricane and decided to visit some old favorite haunts. We had lunch at Jonny D’s today and enjoyed a bit of nostalgia. Not only were our sandwiches- hot roast beef and hot turkey the same as we remembered but our server, Joanie who waited on us has done so many times. Before our move south, this was a favorite spot for us and I didn’t realize how much I missed it. Joanie gave great service and we enjoyed a little of ‘old Baltimore’. Thanks Jonny!

My husband and I live in TN and called and spoke with John about an odd request to order some Sour Beef and Dumplings to get to his 104 year old great grandfather, who lives on the eastern shore by Ocean City, where there are no places with good sour beef and dumplings. John was an absolute delight to speak with and he was absolutely happy to help us out. We made arrangements that when one of his family members or employees went out that way for any vacations, they would drop it off to the house for us. Several weeks had gone by, but one day I had received a phone call from John saying that he was going to the beach the following week and would still be happy to prepare the food and drop them off for us. We were so pleased that he remembered and that it was still something that he was willing to do for complete strangers. After that, everything went as planned and not only did he drop them off, but he went inside and showed him how to put it all together. My husband’s great grandfather was surprised and so happy, and he loved his food! We will forever appreciate the work this man has done to help our family with this odd request. Thank you so much, John and crew!!
