From the team behind Dio Mio, Redeemer, and Little Johnny B’s, this spot continues their streak of strong Italian cooking and thoughtful execution.
The decor blends classic Italian charm with playful touches, and the cocktail menu is creative and well balanced. Service was excellent throughout the meal.
Standout dishes included the parmesan cream Doughnuts with prosciutto and aged balsamic, the sourdough focaccia with cacio e pepe spread, and the Mushroom Pizza with roasted garlic béchamel and layered mushrooms. The Spicy Alla Vodka Pizza was also beautifully done.
The Pappardelle with chicken cacciatore ragu was rich and comforting, and desserts like the Clementine Cake and Nutella Icebox Cake were fantastic finishes.
It’s a strong addition to the Denver food scene and absolutely worth a reservation.
The pastas are incredible! Truly some of the best fresh pasta in Denver, and the ravioli honestly blew our entire table away. Hands down the best ravioli I’ve ever had!
This has also easily become my favorite spot for pizza in Denver. You can taste how fresh everything is, from the dough to the toppings. Every pizza we’ve tried has been great, but the mushroom pizza is my personal favorite.
As a vegetarian, I really appreciate how many thoughtful options they offer. It’s refreshing to find an Italian restaurant in Denver with vegetarian options that don’t feel like an afterthought. Definitely a great restaurant for vegetarians!
Johnny Bechemels is one of those places you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Salad was great.
Focaccia was 10/10.
Chicken Matzoballs were a creative twist.
Pappardelle was cooked perfectly and sauce/chicken were so flavorful.
Mushroom pizza had a fun take on a mushroom pizza “pie”. Unique (in a good way) flavor from some pickled mushrooms.
Last but not least, the clementine cake was so good. We were both stuffed but couldn’t resist and both have no regrets!
We got the double pepperoni pie, stuffed peppers, chicken meatballs, and focaccia. I would order all of them again. The peppers have a great tang to them with the “crazy water”. Pizza has cup and char pepperoni, which is far and above the superior type of pepperoni haha. The crust is soft and chewy, yet crispy. The little celery bits on top of the chicken meatballs were delicious. Focaccia was soft, yet crunchy (sorry no photo, it came out first and we were hungry).
Service was prompt and attentive. Kitchen is open, which is always fun to watch. Cozy remodel with good mix of seating styles.
If I had one critique- I’m a non-drinker and I wish there was one or two more NA options from the bar.
Excited to return and try the pasta!
The matzo-ball meatballs are an absolute must. The flavor is unreal, you should’ve seen our faces after the first bite. Total shock. They were that good.
Other standouts were the sausage spiral and the gem salad (because yes, lettuce can actually be crave-worthy when it tastes like this). Every pasta we tried was amazing too. By the second half of the night when the remaining dishes arrived (we did it tapas style where we got bunch of things to share and taste), we were still taking bites and saying over and over “This. Is. So. Good”
The details of the design didn’t go unnoticed. The mismatched plates for food felt like they were pulled straight from a grandma’s hutch and I’m pretty sure automatically makes the food more authentic (that’s a thing, right?). The space itself is great, and my boyfriend (a huge music guy) said more than once about how perfectly the playlist set the vibe in the restaurant.
Genuinely so good. The only reason we haven’t been back is because we live over an hour away but this will be a repeat restaurant for us whenever we go to Denver!
